The Coen Bros. are pretty consistent and more often than not deliver awesome movies. Judging by the hot streak they had going a while: No Country For Old Men, Burn After Reading (which I know not everyone loved), A Serious Man, and True Grit I'm definitely excited for this one!

Haven't heard anything on this movie for a while, but I came across a script review for it from this past May. This movie is not what I thought it was going to be. It's completely in line with the Coen Brothers, but it appears to be much more of a comedy with your typical cast of odd Coen Bros. characters than the period piece about the 60's NY music scene I was expecting.
At least now I know why this guy's carrying around that cat.

Apparently it doesn't have a distribution deal yet, so it'll be shown one time on the Sony lot. Sounds weird for a Coen bros flick.

CBS Films Acquires Coen Brothers’ ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’
"CBS Films has landed domestic distribution rights to Joel and Ethan Coen’s Inside Llewyn Davis. The film attracted heavy interest after its first screening was held last week on the Sony lot, one that drew a music crowd, a constellation of movie stars and numerous studio execs. The result was, everybody got hot and bothered about the film. I’m hearing there were three bidders for the pic and CBS Films got the film for just under $5 million for U.S. rights."
Deadline
It will probably be Fall before we get to see it...

Screened at Cannes. Very excited.
Cannes: Oscar Isaac's breakout performance drives the Coens' arch, magical portrait of pre-Dylan Greenwich Village
"...this mysterious, satirical comedy-drama set in the Greenwich Village folk-music scene of the early 1960s finds the brothers at their richest and strangest, delivering a shaggy-dog parable about the elusive nature of artistic success that’s loaded with colorful supporting characters and pregnant with hidden possible meanings....
But as with “O Brother,” no musicological degree is required to appreciate this amazing evocation of a vanished New York and a vanished America, captured in the magical blue-gray images of French cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel. (Yes! The Coens have parted ways with Roger Deakins, at least for now.)...
John Goodman appears in his most diabolical mode – duh! It’s a Coens movie! – as a dark-hearted junkie jazz musician who embarks on an increasingly allegorical road trip with Llewyn and a nonverbal beat poet played by Garrett Hedlund....
...while it is often satirical and sometimes hard-hearted, it is rendered with such loving craftsmanship that it never feels cruel (even if Llewyn sometimes is). There is a cat who cheats death. I cannot wait to see it again."

Cannes Review: The Coens Brothers' 'Inside Llewyn Davis' Is A Funny, Melancholy Look At A Wayfaring Stranger
"But the success or failure of the film resides on Oscar Isaac, and he absolutely wears the Coens' precise dialogue and tone like a glove, and delivers a melancholy, worn performance that's equally funny as well (sometimes both at the same time)....
Executive producer T. Bone Burnett supervises a great batch of covers and originals (given generous space in the movie, making it a quasi-musical), that folk heads will have fun with catching the references....

Produced by the film’s writer and directors Joel and Ethan Coen, the film’s executive music producer T Bone Burnett and producer Scott Rudin, the star-studded concert reunites the trio behind O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU? and the highly successful concert events launched in conjunction with that film. ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER TIME: CELEBRATING THE MUSIC OF “INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS” will feature live performances of the film’s music, as well as songs from the early 1960s that inspired the film. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will benefit the National Recording Preservation Foundation. The concert will take place at The Town Hall in New York City on Sunday, September 29, 2013, and SHOWTIME will air it nationally on Friday, December 13th at 9 PM ET/PT.
Artists performing at the concert include The Avett Brothers, Joan Baez, Rhiannon Giddens of Carolina Chocolate Drops, Lake Street Dive, Colin Meloy of The Decemberists, The Milk Carton Kids, Keb’ Mo’, Marcus Mumford, Bob Neuwirth, Conor Oberst, Punch Brothers, Dave Rawlings Machine, The Secret Sisters, Patti Smith, Gillian Welch, Willie Watson, and Jack White. Stars of the film will also perform at the event, including Oscar Isaac (who plays the title role in the film), Carey Mulligan, Adam Driver, Stark Sands and John Goodman. In addition to extensive concert footage, the documentary will feature behind-the-scenes material from the feature film, including rehearsals, and interviews with the filmmakers and cast.
INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS follows a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac) is at a crossroads. Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles — some of them of his own making. Living at the mercy of both friends and strangers, scaring up what work he can find, Llewyn’s misadventures take him from the baskethouses of the Village to an empty Chicago club — on an odyssey to audition for a music mogul — and back again.

A shame we have to wait until after the movie opens. That line-up is amazing!
