Full Time Killer (HK action flick)

I'm watching it right now..right about the 40 min. mark actually...and I'm not sure if I really like it or not. Maybe it's the look of the film itself...I dunno. It's got some interesting stuff going on w/ the direction of the camera. Action seems alright so far...did enjoy the style of the 1st kill by Lau in the film. Just...something about it. The story is fine, You know...it's an HK action flick..soooo sometimes this can take a backseat but it's got some interesting stuff going on, semi predictable but...I'm enjoying it. Lau is kind of cool, not digging the other guy..but maybe that's just the way the character comes off.

Just wondering what you guys thought. Again...I'm at the 40 min. mark..and I'll respond further tomorrow. And for those of you that don't know what the film is:

Its' been years since I've seen it, but I remember that this was said to start the "Comeback" of HK New Wave. Though I did find it to be entertaining, it obviously wasn't near the echelon of Woo's epics.

Have you seen any other Johnnie To films? Throw Down has long been my most favorite.

Ash Ketchum?

Anyway...finished seeing it now. It's not bad...maybe a bit too...bland (to the point of almost being bored) in terms of the drama/conflict. Action was good, but not really amazing.

Could've been better. Not bad...but...just...alright.

Some of my favorite To films:

Needing You...one of my all-time fave romantic comedies
A Hero Never Dies...classic Heroic Bloodshed
The Heroic Trio...over the top and entirely awesome
The Longest Night...featuring an awesome Tony Leung

Full Time Killer is stylish as hell, but I was mostly bored by it and was entirely put off by the Simon Yam character. Had a mad crush on Kelly Lin at the time and I dug the Point Break homage, but otherwise pretty dull.
