After Ghost in the Shell I was kind of worried this would go with the too-obvious CG look as well, glad it didn't.

I wish Ford wasn't in this, but I'm a fan of Ryan Gosling. So far it looks interesting. They even kept Atari in there!
It's weird to see the visuals in this Blade Runner sequel, coming right after the Ghost In The Shell movie, which was trying very hard to copy the visuals of the original Blade Runner. Who will do it better in 2017?

I think it looks great (with the exception of Jared Leto) and is probably my most anticipated movie of the year!

I'm torn here.
Blade Runner is one of my favorite movies. I don't think it needs a sequel. And if it gets a sequel, then chances are it will suck just because you can't improve on perfection.
But everything I've seen in these trailers just looks and feels right.

I am still trying to figure out what the story is. I know Scott isn't directing, but it sure feels like it. "Story? We don't need no fucking story. Just look at the pretty pictures!"
My next hairbrained theory: humanity is extinct and all "people" are replicants who don't know it.

Looks like it might be pretty good (can't figure out what it's supposed to be about from the trailer(s) but it looks & sounds cool), the only thing I don't really care for is the title, sounds too much like Seaquest 2032 or Battlestar Galactica 1980 (there's another one but I can't remember it right now).

The original Blade Runner's story is pretty threadbare, in terms of plot. Where it succeeded was in the imagery, tone, characterization, and philosophical contemplation.

Someone on Youtube already theorized what it could be about, since according to them, they're pretty much telegraphing what it really is about.
Spoiler:

They're trying to be secretive of the actual story, which is why we're getting this piecemeal reveal of plot points.

I disagree with your assessment of the original story ... it was a future noir mystery about a retired detective/bounty hunter coming back to crack an "unsolvable" case about rogue machines returning to Earth and going on a killing spree. The tone, characterizations, philosophical contemplations, and the visuals were parts that enriched the story. Scott tried to fuck with that in favor of visuals, but it succeeded in the long run.
I'll just say ... I am worried because we have seen this Ridley Scott strategy work so well in the Aliens franchise. I'm hoping Villenueve wins out.
