KILL LIST (2011) (dir. Wheatley)

Eight months after a disastrous job in Kiev left him physically and mentally scarred, ex-soldier turned contract killer Jay (Maskell), is pressured by his partner Gal (Smiley), into taking a new assignment. The film follows as they descend into the dark, disturbing world of the contract, Jay begins to unravel once again -- his fear and paranoia sending him deep into the heart of darkness.

...trailer doesn't really give me the vibe that the critic mentions talk about. Interesting shots. Never heard of the director.

after checking it up, I know why. This is his 2nd flick.

Looks interesting enough. Has a 79% rating on RT. Comes out February 3rd (limited)

Just caught this tonight; the first 20 minutes suffers from a terrible sound mix. Effects slightly overshadow the very thick accents. Once the film gets going, it is engaging, but incredibly obtuse. The ending is overly contrived nonsense that serves one purpose: shock the viewer one last time.

I saw this a while back and agree about the ending. I was enjoying the film until the last 3rd which I found to be rather silly.

I think the problem with the film stems from the line in the credits blatantly admitting a lot of the dialogue was improvised.

It was alright. The first two thirds of the movie was awesome and creepy. Ending came outta nowhere.
