They don't need to remake Godfather III. Before Mario Puzo died, they were going to make a Godfather IV with Leonardo DiCaprio as a young Sonny Corleone and parallel his story with that of the rise of Vincent (Andy Garcia) as the head of the Corleone family. Instead, they could have repurposed their idea of Tom Hagen versus Michael Corleone. Well, had they not said he died before the events of Godfather III...

Thanks for posting those two links, mattysemo247. I remember reading the second in the Robin Hood thread. Facinating stuff.

Since The Matrix was mentioned in the article, how did Matrix Revolutions not make the list?

Because no official word has been stated about what was originally intended for The Matrix Revolutions. Other than recasting the Oracle, the only known change is that a helicopter chase (presumably featuring the Twins) was altered to be the background footage for high speed flying Neo in The Matrix Reloaded. As for The Matrix, the only know change is that there was no "power plant" and the humans instead were used as a parallel processor that actually was the Matrix itself. The only other change I know of is that Smith in The Matrix Reloaded was originally gonna be Smith 2.0 (rather than the original antagonist still alive), he would have a pony tail (this was digitally removed in a few shots from the sequel since Hugo Weaving grew his hair out) and his fight style was capoeira (for which Hugo Weaving was trained before the whole concept was nixed mid-production).

While the other 5 are bad or "so-so at best" movies, I think Ridley Scott's Robin Hood is rather good and not even remotely "terrible". And the movie is a new take on the legend given that it ended up being an "origins story" instead of the more typical Robin Hood movie (it could've easily been titled Robin Hood Begins instead ).
Nottingham does sound like an interesting take on the legend but it actually working on the big screen seems really iffy to me because that kind of story sounds tough to translate to the screen well.

I thought Robin Hood was pretty good too... besides, Nottingham sounds like that Johnny Depp movie with the Headless Horsemen.

Don't get me wrong. I too loved Robin Hood and would love to see a sequel. But Nottingham sounds intruiging (and nowhere near the shitfest that was Sleepy Hollow).
