They made us watched the HBO documentary in 6th grade. To this day I still don;t remember what the point was other than to scare us shitless.

All I know is that Michael Shannon is the best actor working today.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa...ONE of them. Not THE best. I'd give that to Daniel Day-Lewis. Though...it'd be pretty badass to see a Shannon/Day-Lewis movie. That'd be intense.

Lets kick it up a notch and have an DDL/Shannon/Fassbender project.

If that trailer indicates they're portraying him as a "loving, family man," this movie is beyond despicable.

I've learned that "based on a true story" gives the filmakers license to do anything they want with certain aspects of a story. As long as its a good film, I'm cool with it.

Basically what I said. He was anything but. Sure, he provided for them but he was a very abusive person.

Well, don't get too thrown from what you see in a "trailer." Don't forget what that college kid proved to the world with his mock-trailer of The Shining: he transformed a horror movie into a "feel-good" father/son film.

Trailers can trick you. Hopefully that's the case here.

Part 2:

Also, I DON"T KNOW IF THIS IS A REPEATED VIDEO OF THE ABOVE TWO OR NOT - just going to post it anyway:

I remember watching these a while back....Shannon can definitely pull off the role.

Truth-stretching aside, that was one powerful motherfucker of a trailer. Hot damn, I want to see this NOW.

Yeah, the second (official) trailer was really good. Looks like a good period piece. Can't wait!

This applies to the 2nd trailer as well.

I think it'll be a good movie, but this will still bother me.

Re: The Iceman (Michael Shannon, Del Toro, Evans)

I saw this at TIFF back in September - it was good, with a great performance by Michael Shannon, but there were parts that were extremely slow. Winona Ryder was pretty terrible and her presence hurt the movie IMO.

Re: The Iceman (Michael Shannon, Del Toro, Evans)

I wonder also if they will portray him as a "Leon type" bad ass assassin/hit man or the psychotic serial killer he really was. There were hundreds of people her murdered just because he was compelled to. He hunted the homeless for years.

Re: The Iceman (Michael Shannon, Del Toro, Evans)

That's been discussed earlier in this thread. It looks like they are portraying him as an anti-hero rather than the sick, twisted, wife and child abusing fuck that he was.

It really bothers me, but I bet it's a good movie regardless.

Re: The Iceman (Michael Shannon, Del Toro, Evans)

James Gandolfini would have been the "perfect" Richard Kuklinski in this movie....
