Looks like it should be a special episode of Dr. Who, or a season of Torchwood.

Well that's different! Looks pretty good. Glad to see that the dog doesn't make it

Oh, I hope it's good. But I worry that it's this year's "Push" or "Jumper". There seems to be one of those types every year. They give a fair budget to a less-traditional sci-fi idea, but they end up as a 'swing and a miss'.

I'm ambivalent. It looks like it could be cool (mainly because of the concept) but the trailer gives me a cheesey vibe in parts.

when the brightest scientific and military minds on the planet can't stop the an advanced enemy, call on the kids
and with all the natural resources and energy floating around in the solar system and space in general the aliens decide to come to earth. an advanced alien civilization with the knowledge of nuclear fusion and other advanced tech comes to earth to steal the output of incandescent light bulbs

I think it's a group of Decepticons looking for Energon.
This looks awful. Like Battle LA awful. At least Battle LA had a kickass trailer. Even the trailer for this sucked.

Eh, I think the problem here is they show how the movie probably plays out entirely. Battle LA's trailer was some neat visual effects with .. well actually it covered the entire plot as well... to gratingly annoying music.

All that beam wiggling reminds me of ghostbusters.
It looks pretty entertaining from watching the trailer but for some reason it screams out rental.

Hm. Had more of a Jumper vibe to me. Or maybe it's this year's Johnny Mnemonic.

I used MoviePass to see this last night before it leaves most theaters, which will probably be this weekend (give or take).
It's watchable.
It's not awful (like say Skyline which ranks above The Devil Inside as the worst mainstream, studio release in the past decade), but it's definitely a great, high concept idea that's ruined by a poor script and incompetent directing.
Hirsch, Thirlby and Minghella do their best with lackluster material (whereas the rest of the cast is awful) and there were moments where the 3D was quite effective. It's also nice to see the cast of Night Watch and Day Watch still get some work. Hmmm, I wonder why that can be...
It's worth watching when you're bored on a Saturday afternoon and this ends up on SyFy. Other than that? Not worth the time or money.
