Jennifer Jason Leigh
Any fans of her work?
Just wish she would do more films since she was a good actress.
Did Hollywood get tired or he or were the roles not coming to her?
Existenz is a classic.

Re: Jennifer Jason Leigh
What happened to her is what unfortunately happens to many actresses ... she got older. Hollywood doesn't have much interest in 40+ year old women. She's aging really well though, steadily looking about 10 years younger than her age for a while now.
She's a really good actress though, that just never got the really "big" role to make her a household name. She's turned down many roles that went on to be huge for the eventual actress: Jodi Foster's roles in Taxi Driver, The Accused, and Silence of the Lambs; Brooke Shields' roles in Pretty Baby and Blue Lagoon; Julia Roberts' role in Pretty Woman; Kim Bassinger's role in LA Confidential. Damn, that's 3 Oscar winning and 2 more Oscar nominated roles right there.
Not sure what my favorite JJL movie is. Dorothy Parker is probably her best performance. And she had supporting roles (or was part of an ensemble cast) in some fine movies: Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Short Cuts, Hudsucker Proxy, Road to Perdition, The Machinist. I have a soft spot for the original The Hitcher, and the scene where

I'd be a fan of hers if she'd made more cool movies like her dad, Vic Morrow, did. Y'know, like BLACKBOARD JUNGLE, PORTRAIT OF A MOBSTER, DIRTY MARY CRAZY LARRY, MESSAGE FROM SPACE, 1990: THE BRONX WARRIORS, etc.
Interestingly, both Peter Fonda and Morrow co-starred in DIRTY MARY, CRAZY LARRY (1974) and then, 18 years later, their daughters, Bridget Fonda and Leigh, co-starred in SINGLE WHITE FEMALE (1992). No car chases in the latter, though.

She's definitely good and, if the Oscars mean anything, she should have been nominated a few times. I like that she goes for variety in her roles although they do lean towards characters that are troubled in some way.
Looking at her IMDB, there are several films on her list that I really like.
She's excellent in Rush and Dolores Claiborne if I had to pick two.

I've always really liked Jennifer Jason Leigh. There are some performances from her that I don't think work as well, but I like the fact that she's not afraid to go big but can still do subtle and real, kind of like Johnny Depp in a way.

Re: Jennifer Jason Leigh
Have you seen Greenberg, the movie she co-wrote with Noah Baumbach? She has only a supporting role, but I found the movie quite engaging.

I saw it Greenberg and it was a good movie.
I remember when she did Inside the Actors Studio and she was quite shy.

It's no problem when it's relevant, and I often enjoy them, but what's the point in listing a bunch of movies that someone related to the person in question made? That's quite a stretch.
