Re: Try this character guessing application out......

Stumped it with Roger Mortis from Dead Heat. I think I'm the only person who likes that movie, so it was no surprise

26 questions to get Lionel Cosgrove from Braindead

It didn't get any characters from Fulci films, but I added quite a few now.

Re: Try this character guessing application out......

It took it 28 to get Ace Rothstein from Casino.

The thing is weird. It will often waste it's guesses. It will ask "Is your character the main character in his movie?" and then ask "has your character ever been in a movie?"

Re: Try this character guessing application out......

Got Judge Smails in about 25 questions.

For round two I tried thinking of a more obscure character -- Joel the cameraman from Scream 2.

Couldn't help but chuckle a little when the genie asked these three questions in a row:

1. Does your character have white skin? No.
2. Is your character black? Yes.
3. Is your character a criminal?

After 60 questions and guessing Zeus from Die Hard 3 and Argyle from Die Hard -- he gave up.

He got Brock Sampsons after 24 questions. He was not able to answer Barbazoo, one of Barbapapa's kids (from the late 70s/early 80s French cartoon).

Did they change this between yesterday and today? It has a totally different layout now and only goes up to 40.

Yeah, the layout is completely changed and now you have to enter your name and age, probably for stats.

This damn thing knows real people too - not just characters, but anyone connected to hollywood or politics.

Got John Nash - the actual mathematician, not Russell Crowe's portrayal of him.

This thing just got James Horner ( my favorite film composer) in under 40 questions!

Re: Try this character guessing application out......

It first guessed Rhett Butler of GWTW for Paul Kersey (Death Wish), but got it a few questions later.

It guessed King Silas Benjamin of Kings for Bernardo of West Side Story, but got that one too after a few more.

However, it DID get Rae from Black Snake Moan.

Re: Try this character guessing application out......

Rediscovered this today. It doesn’t work very well. It couldn’t guess Fletch or Cole from 12 Monkeys.

Re: Try this character guessing application out......

It's a little confusing. Some of the questions that refer to the 'character' seem like they are really asking about the actor.

I went through it once answering the questions while thinking about the character Johnny Mnemonic. Eventually it answered that I was thinking of Keanu Reeves, but it didn't guess the character.

Then I went through it thinking of Radha Mitchell's character from Pitch Black. It guessed wrong after 23 questions, but then I continued and it guessed the character correctly ('Carolyn Fry') after several more questions.

Re: Try this character guessing application out......

All he says when I try it is "A technical problem has occurred. Please try again."

Too bad. It sounds like it would be neat.

Re: Try this character guessing application out......

So far it has correctly guessed Luke Skywalker, Jed Clampett, Groot and The Iron Giant. Pretty neat.

Re: Try this character guessing application out......

Still pretty fun. It got Marquis Warren from Hateful Eight and Otto from A Fish Called Wanda, but it was stumped after 70+ questions by John Jefferies from Summer of Sam, it's final guess was Mars Blackmon from She's Gotta Have It, which is funny since both characters were played by Spike Lee.

Re: Try this character guessing application out......

#1 Chuck Bartowski - The game spit out Sheldon Cooper after 20 questions. After another 25 it came up with Zach Levi. Close enough I guess.

#2 Jack Shepherd - After 20 it gave me Ty Borden. After another dozen it got Jack Shepherd.

#3 Enchanted Rose from Beauty & the Beast - 80+ questions before it got it, but it got there.

Decent idea for a game, but it does seem to confuse Actor with Character. It also seems like it should immediately start with Male/Female and Movie/TV to simplify it, but it doesn't. It also asked me if my character (Chuck) had human skin (Y) early on and then asked if it was an animal in a later question

So it seems like a cool concept that would work better in the hands of a more skilled programmer.

Re: Try this character guessing application out......

Damn it! It'll let me choose objects, or animals, but if I choose characters, it always gives me the "A technical problem has occurred. Please try again." message.

I've tried in Chrome and IE, and disabled ublock origin in Chrome. Nothing helps.

It' pretty cool, with objects, so I'd like to try the character version.
