Out of curiosity I looked on the app this morning and none of the theaters would load. Glad I wasn't on my way to a show.

But heck, I've seen the trailer for that so many times this Spring/Summer - it's run before just about *every* film I've seen since I signed up for Moviepass - that I feel like I've already seen it. Lol.

I paid $115 for a year back in February. I've seen 13 movies, each one ticketed at $10.59 or $9.59, depending on which AMC I went to, so I'm already beyond the break-even point. I was hoping the service would last for a full year, and I'll try to see 1-2 more films before MP goes under, but I'm satisfied with the value I received and will be sad to see it go.
Are you using eticketing by any chance?

As of 12:53pm PT, 22 cents.

Might go under 20 cents by the end of business today.

Same here. And movie times like the Teen Titans, which was readily available yesterday, don't even show up today when you click on it. And MIF has completely disappeared from my app.

they reached -99.99% YTD performance. I wonder if they can get to 100 without being zero.

Closed at 23 cents today.

I think it's pretty amazing how people were loving this company last Fall being able to see many movies for cheap, but now almost 1 year later most have turned on it and are rooting for it to fail.

As I said before, if this company was more up front and honest rather than resorting to these shady business practices and constant changes, then maybe people wouldn't have turned on them. I think this was a super small company who went way over their heads and wanted to make a big splash and name for themselves right away to shake up the movie theater industry. But, they ended up draining their bank accounts and disappointing many people instead by selling a product they couldn't promise on delivering.

and now they're doing snarky/sarcastic memes on social media? Seriously. Be a fucking mature company.

My next payment isn't until Aug 21st so I might as well just wait it out and see if I get a few more weeks out of it.

Wow, Costco just refunded my annual purchase, no questions asked, quick and easy. I guess I'm done with Moviepass. No way in hell I'm paying surge prices when I go to $5.99 showings. I wonder if my Moviepass gets deactivated now.

Did you ask them to or did they do it for everyone automatically?

People with annual memberships aren't supposed to see surge pricing until their year is up, were you seeing any surge pricing in the app?

A friend of mine also reached out to Costco here in California and she is also being offered a full refund for her year subscription.

re: MoviePass... would it work for you? [UPDATE: DYING A SLOW DEATH]

Just checked the app. One theater no showings at all. Others, no showings until after 10pm. Mission Impossible still blocked as expected. What a joke. If this is on purpose for them to save money, it's a dick move...regarding cutting off showings.

Can't wait to see the peak pricing icons pop up tomorrow.

So is Costco charging MoviePass for these refunds or are they eating the cost?

The top comment on Facebook nails it

I can't wait to see the new Terms and Conditions

1. You can only see a movie 3 or more weeks old
2. You can only go between the hours of 2 P.M. and 5:00 p.m.
3 You can only sit in the front row.
4. The theater manager must escort you to your seat. And you must up load a selfie with him or her to prove you were in the front row.
5. You can only go on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
6. You CANNOT SEE ANY movies that Movie Pass consider blockbusters.

re: MoviePass... would it work for you? [UPDATE: DYING A SLOW DEATH]

Given I only have 8 days left in my service before it ends, I have tried to see a few more films.

When checking the App around 3:15pm (PST), the App had limited showings but all theaters in my area had at least a late showing (for most films) between 9-10pm.

Checking the App again a few hours later around 5pm (PST), every single theater's listings reverted to the 'There Are No More Screenings..' Screen

Hoping I can use it on Equalizer 2 tomorrow @ 630pm.

Already signed up for the AMC pass but would consider keeping Movie Pass if they'd be very clear with what you can and cannot use it for going forward. I like going to see indie films and rereleases which are all around me at theaters other than AMC. If it doesnt become clear in the next week or so I'll cancel before my bill cycle date on the 13th.

re: MoviePass... would it work for you? [UPDATE: DYING A SLOW DEATH]

I went to the theater to see Mamma Mia with my daughter last night. By the time I got there for the 9:45 p.m. showing, that listing and everyone other one had been removed from the app. Used a gift card I had to pay for the tickets. I'm kicking myself now since we left the theater at 12:01. I should have stopped by the kiosk on my way out and purchased some kind of ticket tonight. Haven't seen any surge pricing kick in yet.

I assume Costco is eating it. I was given a full refund from Costco but still have my account - not that I have been able to use it.

It's worth the minor hit for the positive word of mouth they'll get for accepting returns.

re: MoviePass... would it work for you? [UPDATE: DYING A SLOW DEATH]

Decided to let my monthly renewal happen today, since it's still $10. And hopefully I can see a couple of movies

Today app is showing what I have already seen and MI, Christopher Robin are not allowed and nothing else is showing up. Another theater says I can see Uncle Drew. Another says I can see Dark Web. No rhyme or reason
