That's been in the TOS for some time, and I haven't had an issue earning Stubs rewards so far. Have there been reports that they have stopped actually issuing the points with MoviePass purchases?
If they start blocking the points though, I won't renew my premiere membership when it comes due in a couple of months.

If your theater chain supports e-ticketing (there are only a few that do, you would see a red ticket icon next to the theater name in the app if it does), you would not need the card.
Otherwise, you need the card for all purchases.

It's best to assume that any given theater does NOT support MoviePass E-ticketing (different than, say, Fandango E-ticketing, or any other type of E-ticketing).
Every theater in my area does their own forms of E-ticketing, for example, but ONLY Studio Movie Grill does MoviePass E-ticketing. I'll probably never go there, though, as all the options closer to me are better in every other way.
So... always assume you have to use the app to "check in" (ie: load the card with cash), then use the MoviePass card in person or at a kiosk to buy the actual ticket.

Wow, no E-ticket theaters in my network. I did see that my card has been shipped according to the app -- it says it also expires in 2024? Granted, it could say "card shipped" to every new member. I just thought it was weird to see.

I don't think MoviePass would be worth it to us, we don't go to that many movies at the theater, maybe 1 or 2 per year. Usually, when a movie comes out that I think we'll both enjoy, I'll wait until it comes out on video and buy it. That way we'll own it and can watch it whenever and however many times we want to. There aren't that many movies that come out these days that both of us would enjoy, being primarily a sci-fi/fantasy/and to a lesser degree, horror-oriented household. I think it would be an unnecessary, and not a worthwhile expense for us.

So they expect the average person will see one movie a month. Ha, I will fuck that up.

“We found that on a $40 per month plan, subscribers would attend an average of 3.8 times per month,” Lowe told me. “At a higher price they would attend more frequently, and at a lower price, less. At $9.95 per month we expect the average subscriber to settle into a pattern of just over a movie ticket per month.”

Even one movie ticket a month will lose them money in my area.

Well, at the $40/mo rate, I was seeing 8-9 movies per month. I was eventually deemed a "high" user and then they messed around with my subscription rate. I was forced to cancel rather than pay $100/mo for the service.
Oddly enough, with the $10/mo plan, I have only seen one movie thus far. Granted, there hasn't been much out, but I don't expect that to be my norm. At some point, I will feel the need to "catch up" on what is out there.

This. I actually received my card, and have yet to use it as there isn't anything I want to see at the moment. At only $10 a month, it isn't worth forcing myself to see something that I don't want to just so I dont end up wasting $10. However, if it was $40 a month, that would be a different story.

Officially a month since they charged my card, still nothing. Was hoping to have it at least by this weekend.

In my app it has now changed from "shipped" to "card processing". So.basically they lied when they said it has shipped.or.they have.no.clue.what.they are.doing.

I've had the card for a few weeks and have used it twice so far, works great. I have a theater half a mile from me, so it's worth it to me. After the first movie I was up a dollar so, I'll take it.

Not for nothing, but my card now says "card processing" in the app. I received it a week ago.

Processing. Oh, brother. Tried to cancel using the app, but it would not work.

Finally got my card today. Hallelujah. It arrived 1 month and 5 days after I initially ordered.
I never got billed for the past month, so I'm a little confused why some of you got billed and have not even received it yet.
I assume as soon as I use it for the 1st time that will trigger my account. If I have time, I'm going to try to use it tomorrow or Sunday.
