Got my email. Hopefully my last. No details on the plans but was hawking the book by Stacy Spikes with the quote "You deserve to know what happened with MoviePass." Like I care. lol

Got my email invite last night. The signup process is definitely not transparent with information.
Thanks for the link to the pricing info.
The rollover of credits is a nice feature (sort of essential since you'll always have a remainder of credits).
I'll admit though, I've gotten spoiled by AMC AList and buying reserved seats ahead of time, I am out of the habit of just going to a theatre and buying the ticket there.
One of the FAQ implies some theaters will allow e-ticketing, but no details.
Haven't decided yet...

Thanks for that link! I'm going to stay with AMC for now. Although it may be cheaper with MoviePass whenever I'm waiting for the next IMAX to come out, I don't want all the switching back and forth. I mostly go at nights and weekends, mostly weekend nights. I love the reserve and go. I used MP back in the day and got a ton of value out of it and left when it started declining.

Yikes Southern California and NY pricing is double other states for the cheapest plan.

We'll see if it lasts but I am going to try the $10 and see how it goes. At the very least can see a few matiness with my kids.

I'm sure that's because ticket prices are higher, no? That was what made the earliest incarnation of Moviepass a no go for me, it was too expensive (when it was offered) in CA, and it's also what made the insane MoviePass era so good.

BTW, from the FAQs:
Will my unused credits rollover?
Yes! Up to 2 months of your unused credits will rollover. For example, if your plan is for 23 credits per month, you can have up to 46 credits in your account.

I'd give this a shot, except for my small local theater doesn't have matinees (earliest showing is usually 4:30 or so) during the school year. As a result, the use of credits as described would limit the ability to get my money's worth.

I joined the wait-list back in August but didn't receive any invitation email. So am I just out of luck? Did anyone else sign up and not get the invite?

According to their website, anyone that signs up is suppose to get 10 friend invites. Who knows if that's for real or not. I can share here if I get them.

Here's the list of theaters that supposedly take this new incarnation of Movie Pass.
I let my priority access lapse, but it says I can sign up to join the waitlist for the Spring/Summer 2023 launch. I'm extremely leery about this. I already pay $24.95/month for A-List and have been very satisfied with it.

I live literally 10-12 minutes away from an AMC

I have one AMC theater near me and it's a shit hole. It's actually the closest theater to my house, but I'd rather not go there if I can go literally anywhere else.
I'm giving this a chance because I liked the original incarnation of MoviePass, before the $10 a month unlimited nonsense. I mean, don't get me wrong, I saw a bunch of movies that way, but I knew that it could never last from the moment that they launched at that price point.
I'm willing to give this a chance because there is no commitment beyond the first month. I'm at the $20 a month level and waiting for my card to arrive.

I passed as well. My fav theater isn't on the list and movies come to streaming so quick now, for stuff I'm just casually interested in.

The IMAX AMC is far but IMAX movies are going to be more anyway. There's one really close to me for regular and 3D movies. I like not having limits (and I can't watch more than 3 movies a week).

I got my card a couple of weeks ago and have used it twice already, which is already more than the amount that I went in at ($20), and I still have 42 credits left for the rest of the month. Zero problems.

Thanks for the update Obi-Wanma! I've been wondering how this was going for folks. Since AMC is all we have here, I just couldn't justify trying it. Their really shitty marketing on the front end sealed the deal by scaring me off.

I haven’t used mine yet but plan to tomorrow.
Is there a way to prebuy tickets or only buy in the theater on the day of the movie?

Theoretically though, if you wanted to spoof your GPS location, you could probably do that and buy them at home.

Figured as much. Couldn’t remember how it worked before.
Can only see times for the current day and looks like can’t use for imax.
3D appears to be an option but the app doesn’t differentiate.

Today I got an email for a free month of MoviePass. From what I understand, you sign up, pay the $20 and get 68 credits (So. Cal is $20 for the basic plan) and then they will double your credits in the next day or two to give you a free month. At least that is the gist from what I understood. So, I'm going to give it a whirl for 1 month. I already have A-List and that's what I usually go to. But, there is a nicer theater near me called "Harkins" that I prefer to go to that has an awesome Cine 1 screen, which is basically their version of Dolby. So, I'll see if I can make the most of the month. It said after I signed up, the card is coming in the next 10-15 days.
