No. Sinemia has always had month to month options. There's a tab above the price label that you have to click on and it adjusts to the monthly plan. I've been with them fr almost a year now and I've been enjoying the 30 movies for $30 plan for the last 3 months at $29.99 per month. In fact, that promotion was supposed to be only for three months, but in my account it says my membership will renew once again for $29.99 in February.

Oh neat...the last time I looked at it I couldn't figure out how to do it.

Again, if you live within 10 miles of an AMC theatre and like going to the movies a few times per month, do yourself a favor and sign up for A-List. It's the best thing going for movie-goers. Even with the small price increase in some regions, it's still so worth if you enjoy going to the movies. There is absolutely no reason to support this joke of a company anymore.

I hate AMC and my nearest one is at a mall, so fuck that noise. At least with my MP card at the current rate, I can still see films at my local Laemmle's. I just need to see one film at my Laemmle's and I've pretty much made back my money for the month.

MoviePass hasnít been available for me in the late afternoon/evening. If it stays like this Iíll finally cancel (after about four years!)
I guess Iíll try disputing the last charge with my credit card as well.

Correction - I was mistaken. I updated my comment in the Sinemia thread. FYI

This right here is what made me and I think just about everyone left turn on them. Screw them for DELIBERATELY causing "malfunctions" on their app so that you can't even use what you signed up for. It was nigh impossible to see any kind of movie the last couple months I had MP. Even if I wanted to "cheat" and just log in to whatever movie they had playing that day and just buy a ticket for something else. They would deliberately remove show times so that you couldn't watch anything. I am convinced they used GPS to determine if you are near the theater or not and then remove the show times. One time in particular I had checked to make sure that the movie was available and in the 3 mins it took for me to drive down there all the showtimes disappeared.

I'm shocked they haven't been sued yet. People have probably asked lawyers and the lawyers probably realize there's no money to be made.

Other than that I still don't see a valid business plan, nor do I see why their approval rating somehow went up or their claim that subscribers are coming back. In fact they are removing more eticketing theaters, which is basically the only reason to subscribe.

I just looked at their stock price, well below a penny now.
I smell BS. There's no way more people are signing up and that they're satisfied with their service. Complete malarky. It's impossible to use their service.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I cancelled MoviePass back in September. they've never bothered me since, and I really don't feel like getting caught up in another vicious cycle of rule changes, etc.

I have Regal Crown rewards (free) and AMC Stubs Premiere (15.99 a year), I get free stuff and the occasional free movie from both. I'm okay with that.

As often as you go to the movies why don't you do A-List?

Yeah I thought that too. Why spend $16/month on AMC Premiere that's really only a point program when he could have spent $4 more and gotten 3 movies per week?

I mean, I get what you're saying but it's 16 bucks a year.

$15.99/year vs $20/month but I see where you're getting at. And A-list includes Premiere.

Oops forgot it was $16/year.

You still have to buy tickets with premiere. You make your money back in like 2 tickets on A-List vs. Premiere which you still have to spend money on to accumulate points to get free tickets.

I have a Cinema Cafe reserve recliner theater about 5 minutes walking from my house, a 12 screen Regal about 5 minutes drive, and the AMC is about 12 minutes away. I get a senior discount everywhere anyway, and the wife and I canít always get out to the AMC, and I really donít have $20.00 a month for one chain. We actually hit Regal more often. Movie Pass was awesome on the annual plan, till it wasn't.

Dear Why So Blu?,

We realize that life changes and we all change with it, Our marketing dog recently noticed that you had accidentally canceled your MoviePass membership. Since life is busy, we took the liberty of upgrading your membership to the next pricing tier as we are certain this is what you meant to do. We want to provide you with a great customer experience, so no further action is necessary on your part. You do not need to attend any additional movies or worry, as we will continue to bill you at this higher rate. In fact, if you don’t see any movies, that would be great!

Sincerely,

The MoviePass Marketing Team (aka, Ted Lowe alone in a bathrobe begging you to stay)

Re: MoviePass... would it work for you? [UPDATE: DEAD DEAL WALKING?]

Dear Loyal MoviePass Customers,

We know you are as excited about MoviePass as us! We want to ensure that you continue to enjoy the same great benefits as before, so we have undertaken a new marketing strategy. In an effort to provide quality customer service and maintain the value of MoviePass, we have recently made moves to position MoviePass as “the best kept secret in show businesss”. For this reason, you may notice that we are no longer advertising on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. This move will remove distractions and allow us to focus on our loyal customers and our core business models, including producing our own blockbusters such as our new Al Pacino film!

We still invite you to expand on your MoviePass enthusiasm and join the proud ranks of MoviePass shareholders. Our shares provide a great value and can be purchased over the counter at most Dollar General stores or through offers that will be sent to random fax machines.

Again, we are still here and still taking you to all the movies you want to see whenever you want to see them with no restrictions.

Begging you to keep sending in money,

The MoviePass Marketing Team (aka, Mitch Lowe contemplating hooking a garden hose hooked to my car exhaust)
