Re: Who do you have to kill to get a Major Motion Picture made of you??
Ed Gein was paid homage for the three films, but only by degrees. For Silence of the Lambs, it was about Jame Gumb sewing woman-costumes. For Texas Chainsaw Massacre, pretty much the same thing, sort of. For Psycho, it was the "mother-fixation." But Gein never did dig up his dead mother and restore her. If he had, I think he'd have been an even bigger figure in pop culture. But, considering his limitations of being quiet, meek, friendly and helpful to his neighbors (and killing only two women and digging up dead people), I'd say he got pretty darn far.
But, however great those three movies were, they were not a portrait of Ed Gein in 100%. It would be nice if they made a "great movie" based on him (and not those horrible direct-to-video films - he deserved better than that).
Where's the big-budget films on Ted Bundy and Albert Fish? Those guys were truly at the top of their game.
I want to thank those forum members who reminded me about "In Cold Blood" and the other films that didn't come to mind when I started this post. Yes, there are movies out there, but names were changed (Badlands) in some of them, and were not true portraits of the men themselves. Or of their crimes.

...As far as "dick sucking," send me a check for $10.00, and a picture, and I'll see what I can do.

Speaking of "In Cold Blood," I think the "Capote" film was excellent, too. And the other Truman Capote film that came out that same year or the year after...inferior, but not bad. A companion piece, and both centered on the 1959 Clutter massacre.

Is there a way we can get an Admin to disable the "post new thread" button on Buttmunker's account? These might be even worse than DPham's poll threads.

Take a hint bm. No matter how many people you plan to kill, you won't get the respect and adoration you believe you will.

If you kill James Cameron for his slander of Murdoch in TITANIC, I guarantee they'll make at least a TV movie out of it.
"It took 100 years, but Murdoch finally cleared his name and sent his nemesis to hell. The story of the poor, anonymous web surfer who made it all possible!"
BUTTMUNKER THE MOVIE: MURDOCH'S REVENGE!
Starring Ed Furlong and Linda Hamilton. Produced by Gale Ann Hurd. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow.

All I want, all I'm asking for, are highly regarded, expertly filmed movies featuring the exploits of serial killers and mass murderers. Am I asking for too much here? What's with all the ridicule? Don't you people want movies in the quality of Zodiac? Or are you satisfied with the crap that goes direct-to-video?

No, I stand by my 100% statement. Of course, Psycho, Silence of the Lambs and Texas Chainsaw Massacre were also documentaries of certain points in Gein's life. So they may not fit your request.
