I'll watch almost anything with Saldana in it, so why not. This is written by Besson (also produced) and Robert Mark Karmen, they wrote The Fifth Element, Transporter #1, and Taken together. Robert Mark Karmen is also the writer of a little known 1984 flick called The Karate Kid.

This will be a good judge of what to expect from Taken 2, see if Megaton was responsible for Transporter 3 sucking or if it was pure script.

The trailer reminds me--too much--of BLACK CAT (1991), Hong Kong's unofficial (far superior) remake of NIKITA. If you like these kinds of movies, you should see the Hong Kong version and its set-in-Russia sequel.

Some scenes seem like they're right out of The Professional. They should have put Portman in the role and called it Mathilda instead.

Think I read that exact line 10 minutes ago on another site. I liked Nikita a lot better than Black Cat, which felt like a cheap rip off that was somehow shot 15 years before Nikita. Not that it was bad, the cheese was just overbearing. Didn't know there was a sequel though.

solid trailer. I'm in. Never saw Transporter 3....soooo...I'm going into this blind essentially. Thought I have seen the trailers for Transporter 3, I wasn't all that amazed. From what I hear...it ain't so hot either.

I didn't find BLACK CAT cheesy myself, but then I tend to be much more at home with the Hong Kong cinematic sensibility than with that of the French.

The funniest thing about it is they got a guy who's almost an exact double of Yeltsin...to play Yeltsin! I was sure they were just using news footage until the big, obviously staged scene of the assassination attempt.

I saw this tonight on a screening. I loved every damn minute of it. Such a badass movie with just a little bit of comedy thrown in at the right times. I definitely suggest this movie.

And boy does she like to show off her nips in this. Seriously, how no one in the cast lost an eye is beyond me and quite baffling.

Was the action as awesomely directed as Taken?

I thought the action was very well done and choreographed. Quite a few times the audience, myself included gasped at how bad ass the onscreen action was. You could hear the whole reaction of the theater at those parts, you would hear "Oh my god" ring throughout the theater.

I haven't watched Taken in like 6 months or so, so I don't remember a lot of it. Come to think of it I might have to dust that off out of my collection and watch that tomorrow again.
