The Brest Fortress(2010, Alexander Kott) Russian/Belarus war film
This is a film about the defense of the Brest Fortress in the opening days of operation Barbarossa: the Nazi invasion of Russia. It's a cooperative effort from both Belarus and Russia, and the people and events in the film are reportedly as close to history as possible. The Brest Fortress Museum participated in the film to advise on accuracy.
If you know history at all you already have a good idea of the film. This was an outpost on the very edge of the USSR where no one expected war to come to them, and it came. The movie is about the events and battles that occurred there when the invasion by the Germans began, the defense of the fortress, and what happened to all the soldiers and their families that lived there. The story is told through the eyes of young boy who lived and fought there. It's kind of like 'The Alamo' is in the US as to national remembrance of a battle in Russia/Belarus.
I recommend it. I really enjoyed this and it's a good film IMO. The events are really something, it's an amazing story. I was surprised at the production values being so high. Check it out if you get the chance.
If you have no other way to see it, the entire film is on Youtube with English subtitles, just click the CC button.

Did you guys notice that the name of the fortress kind of looks like the word "breast"?
As in a tit(or boob) on a female human?
Huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu....

I'm afraid not.
Nor is it a doc about the breastfeeding support community at the 'mybrestfriend' website, or Paul Brest, the law professor at Stanford.

Sounds really interesting. This is part of WW2 history that I know little about, so I'll have to seek this out.

There's a similar film about the Polish front, wish I could remember the name of it.

Finland, Poland, Russia, Germany, South Africa, whatever. I'm from the US of A, and the only geography I need to know is what states aren't connected to the mainland!

This was an excellent movie about a war that most Americans know nothing about. Churchill was actually thinking about supporting the Finns which would have really been interesting as Germany was to support Finland against the reds during Barbarossa. It was the performance of the red army in this conflict that made hitler so confident about beating the red army.

The Finns had a fella on their side who was hell on Nazis with a rifle.
He's widely credited as having the most kills of any sniper.
