Re: What is the first movie you ever saw in a movie theater?
That came out when i was a freshmen in high school and my older step brother and I were going to see a movie and I voted for that since even at 15 I was a big ducktales fan(still am to be honest) but he said hell no pretty quicky and we ended up seeing "Days of Thunder" since he was a big Nascar fan. A few days later he was going to drive me and this girl i was seeing out on our first "date" and I made the mistake of asking him not to tell her I wanted to see ducktales, so he basically made me his slave for the rest of the week until my date with the girl.

My mom tells me that she took me to Superman in 1978. I was six months old, my older brother wanted to see it and she guessed/hoped that I would sleep through the whole thing. Apparantly I sat on her lap and watched the whole thing with wide eyed attention and only fell asleep during the last 20 minutes.
The first film I have a memory of seeing is ET. I saw it several times because different family members wanted to take me.

Like Jaymole, the first movie I ever saw in a movie theater was either Planet Of The Apes or 2001: A Space Odyssey, I can't remember which was first, they both came out at pretty much the same time. I was 13 years old and awestruck. -kd5-

Maybe not the first one I ever saw, but it's one of the earliest that I can remember

My sister took me to see it in '75. I was 9 at the time. I guess she thought I would like it because I loved the AMT Gigantics models. But it scared the crap out of me and I cried, well, like a 9 year old.

^^^^^^^^replying to covenant a couple of posts up
That model set looks AWESOME! Too bad the poster for "Giant Spider Invasion" is a million times better than the movie. Wasn't that the movie that made their monster spiders by covering a VW with furry carpeting and gluing some legs to it?

Yes, yes it was. Full movie via hulu:

MST3K also gave it their treatment.

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.
I enjoyed it, but I did think it was dumb at the time. I would have been three, maybe just turned four.

I'm sure it was some Disney film, but one of the first I remember seeing as a child in a theater is Tim Burton's Batman.

It's hard to say for sure, but I believe it was Predator. I was only 4 then, that's nuts.

I have a few memories, but I don't know what is first. I remember seeing Return of the Jedi in the theater, but I don't recall when it was, but it was not at release, because I would've only been 5. I seem to remember seeing it around the age of 6 or 7. I also remember seeing the Care Bear movie with my siblings. Seems like it came out in 1985, when I would've been about 6 or 7, so that seems right.

Pretty sure mine was Back to the Future but it may have been E.T. when I was very young. I remember BTTF though.
