Surprising facts about ages and how time has passed?

This thread probably will have a lot of obvious info, but I am going for things that show how much time has passed such as...

Drew Barrymore is older now than Steven Spielberg was when he directed E.T.

Can't think of any more at the moment...but that one just really sticks out.

Tarantino and Soderbergh were born less than 3 months apart.

That's all I got.

Kirk Douglas made his film debut the same year Steven Spielberg was born. and Steven Spielberg is 64 years old.

When Mickey Rooney made his film debut, Martin Scorsese's father was 8.

Not ages, specifically, (except maybe my own)

There were sixteen years between Return of the Jedi and Phantom Menace, which, to me, at least, felt like an eternity.

Pulp Fiction was released seventeen years ago, which doesn't seem all that long ago...

I'm 24 years old, Born on the 8th of July......1986.

RoboCop came out....July 17, 1987...

My earliest memory in my life is watching RoboCop on TV which was in August....1989.

I was 3 years old...and it was my first Rated-R film.

Oddly enough, Peter Weller went to North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas)....which is the same school I'm going to right now. He graduated from there in 1969...which is 20 years before I saw RoboCop.

Though he went for Theatre....I'm going for film....so...I've come..full circle?

The list of John Wayne films in which I'm now older than he was when he made it gets longer every year.

That's a good one, but (are you sitting down?) it's been nearly 12 years since The Phantom Menace came out. When the 10 year anniversary hit a few years back, I really started to feel my age ( I was 3 when A New Hope was released).

I think I've mentioned this before but if The Simpsons were in real time Bart Simpson would be about 35 years old now! Maggie would be in her mid-20s.

This always struck me as interesting.

Harrison Ford was 66 in the last Indiana Jones, Sean Connery was 59 when they made Last Crusade.

At the time I remember thinking how old Sean Connery was in that movie.

Wow. That's crazy when you think about it. That would make Homer 64 right?

And if you think about it that way, it has all been within the same "time frame" of their lives. 20 years to spend on the age of 10 for Bart, 7 for Lisa, etc. So if you take that backwards, Bart has had about 200 years worth of adventures so far!

Also how old would Abe be if Homer is 64?!

I'm actually trying to figure out how many days Bart has spent in the same grade. I was in third or fourth grade when the show came out!

Ummm...not sure. I guess I don't know how old Abe is on the show or how old he was when Homer was born. Unless I'm mistaken, Homer is 39.

But wait a minute that can't be right. The show hasn't been on for 25 years.

Ok...just checked. It made it's debut on the Tracy Ullman show in 1987, so say it's been 23 years. That would make Bart 33, Lisa 31, Maggie like 25 or around there and Homer 62. I believe Marge is either the same age or a year or two younger, so she'd be 60-62. I just found a website that says Abe was born in 1916, so I guess that would make him 94.

I absolutely cannot believe how fricking long that show has been on the air.

When M*A*S*H* ended, I always hoped for a reunion movie done in present time (like Trapper John MD) to show the characters' lives decades after the war ended. Now it's not feasible since the Korean War ended almost 60 years ago.

In March of the Wooden Soldiers, I was surprised to find out that the actor who played the villan, Silas Barnaby, was only 22 years old.

This makes me wonder about some Mad Men related facts....many of those characters would be in their 70s and 80s now.

This fall, many kids entering college were not alive when Jurassic Park came out.

Many entering high school were infants when Titanic came out.

The movie "Dazed and Confused" is now older than the events in the movie were when it was made. (So how about a 90s version of Dazed and Confused?)

Somewhere 'official' I saw that Bart Simpson was born in 1980. Lisa was born in 1983 according to one flashback episode.

It's been over 23 years since Star Trek: The Next Generation premiered. It was only 21 years between the premieres of The Original Series and TNG.
