'Heat' (1995) is the perfect middle-ground between art and commerce.
This film gets short shrift when critics talk about Great Films because there is much violence and action in it for the intellectual types, and too much intelligence and dialogue-driven scenes for the average Joe Six-Pack who just wants to see shootouts and explosions.
