I watched this movie as a kid in the 80's on a late Saturday night and recall the following details.

A bunch of miners are working together. Suddenly the mine shaft collapses and all of them are trapped. One of them is worried they won't have food to survive and then they decide to result to cannabalism and cut off someone's arm and use it as food. The miners draw straws and one of them loses, all the miners gang up on him and hack off his arm. Less than a minute after they hack off his arm, a rescue party clears through the shaft and they are all rescued, thus hacking off his arm was unnecessary.

A few years pass and all the miners who were involved with that incident are being killed off one by one by a 1-armed man and they believe it's the same guy who got his arm hacked off.


I have no idea what the name of this movie, but I would like to re-visit it. I recall it was probably a early 80's late 70's horror flick.

Any ideas from any old school horror fans here?

That's it. And not half-bad if I recall correctly. Low-budget, but some before-their-time P.o.V shots. I have a VHS of it somewhere, but haven't viewed it in years.

I hadn't heard of this one either and also thought it was similar to MBV which was made almost a decade after it.

I thought the same thing too when I first read too. I also want to see it. I'll probably check out on Netflix sometime within the next few days.

It's one of the films discussed in Stephen Thrower's amazing Nightmare U.S.A. book. Any fan of horror and/or exploitation films should have it in their collection. The book, that is.
