My wife ended up ordering the Santa Sangre poster, it will be the center piece of my home theater decor

Happy anniversary to me!

It's just as well these production sizes are so small because I shouldn't even try to justify the expense of any of these anyway. I really liked Dracula (black and white) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (color), though. And thanks for bringing Castro to my attention...they actually have a poster for Eyes Wide Shut! I couldn't hang it anyway (though to be honest, I'd rather have the poster up than have to put up with the kids in the family coming around), but it's encouraging to see that someone else out there shares my affinity for that movie.

NSFW
Spoiler:

$45 plus $9 shipping (U.S.). Limited edition of 75. Measures 19" x 25".

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters

My frame came by Saturday Fed Ex from Hollywood Poster Frames. They upgraded me to the "Non Glare Plexi." They had emailed and asked if I wanted it for $20 more but declined. I really only declined because I have never liked the look much with glass, but I actually don't mind this at all. Not a great shot I know. Someone started a thread over there on expressobeans and people are aghast that anyone would even consider pushing the print against plexi. I don't know. I am not really worried.

Oh and I already got a big lecture from my Chinese wife about putting up a picture with blood and death on it. "Bad feng shui/unlucky and we would never do this in China!"

Finally I met a guy locally and got a Revenge variant from him today. 31/275. Don't feel the need for the other variants, but honestly I was obsessed with getting that Revenge version. And I didn't pay eBay prices so I am happy.

What else would you use for the front of a frame?

I love Eyes Wide Shut and love that poster. However, I don't live like a bachelor anymore and couldn't hang that in my house.

Glass, matting and then spacers between the frame and the matte to keep the art off the glass. I have been curious so I looked at a couple of my Acme Archives pieces which were done that way but with plexi. But then I came to my Adam Hughes Slave Leia and it's pushed against the plexi and has been for 4 years. I bought it that way from HFA, not Acme. Little late to worry about it now.

I am pretty satisfied with the Hollywood Frame. It was flimsy at first, but once the little metal pieces are slid in behind the board and frame in the back it was fine. I was sort of wishing the frame was black wood though.

These prints are fantastic.

Matt from Cinema Overdrive is wonderful. Extremely friendly and the prints are very well packaged.

Castro on the over hand hasn't delivered, will give them a few more days.

I guess I am confused too. you don't need spacers if you have a matte. Just me talking out of my ass again.

The more I read up on it, it seems the less I actually know. So many varying opinions.

I feel pretty comfortable with my frames from Hollywood Poster Frames. They use high quality materials that are meant for archiving so I feel pretty safe there.

Finally got a shipping notice on my stout. It will have to live in the tube for awhile though.

I walked out of the theater the other night and the Mondo employee was showing a customer one. He didn't buy it and it was returned to the back not the flat file. Don't know if it was damaged. If you are still interested you might stop by.

I would advise against ordering from Castro. No response to e-mail and no print. Time to file a dispute. Just a heads up to anyone thinking about ordering from them.

Amazing how fast the Mondo prints sell out.

When did you order from them? Last thing I bought from them took a good 4-5 weeks to arrive.

Wow, it's not been quite that long yet. Had they responded to an e-mail now and then and let me know it would take awhile then I would be more understanding.

I do appreciate your input and letting me know that you did receive your items. That does put my mind at ease.

Cinema Overdrive on the other hand has been awesome, very fast shipping and packaged very well.
