True Grit or The Fighter today?
Really torn what to see on the wind blown blizzard aftermath of a day. Can only see one, so which is the better choice out of these incredibly well-recieved 2?

I've seen them, and while they're both excellent, True Grit is better.

True Grit is better and lends itself to more interesting discussion, particularly concerning its ending. The Boxer is good but a pretty simplistic story. There's not much to it.

is The Fighter even getting "excellent" reviews? It was my understanding that the film was pretty by-the-numbers with the exception of Christian Bale.

Regardless, go see True Grit.

I was torn between the same two films the other day. My dad and I ended up seeing True Grit, but we both found it to be pretty ho-hum. It's definitely worth seeing, but I think the praise for it is totally overblown.

True Grit is probably the better overall movie but I loved the Fighter and for Bale alone it's worth seeing ASAP.
