What characters are personified as how they act at the BEGINNING of a film?

For example, people refer to a Grinch as someone who is a grouch, Christmas hater, etc. Someone who is a Scrooge as a miserly, stingy person. However these characters rid themselves of these traits by the end of their stories, and in fact, became the complete opposite of their "perceived" characters.

What other characters are perceived in a way that is opposite or very different to the way that they develop at the end of their movies?

I'm cheating, since his arc spans three movies, but I'll say Darth Vader in the original trilogy.

Any movie that introduces the main character as an arrogant jerk and focuses on him or hear learning humility.

e.g.

Paul Newman's character in The Hustler
Jet Li's character in Fearless

munsoned (v.) - to be up a creek without a paddle; to have the whole world in the palm of your hand and blow it. a figure of speech.

In "Kingpin", Roy Munson won the amateur Iowa state bowling championship, but lost his hand in a hustling scheme gone bad. By the end of the movie he becomes a winner thanks to a generous endorsement deal from Trojan condoms and saves an Amish community.

Juno. Everyone thinks of her as a quirky, snarky knocked-up teen, but by the end of the movie she's a quirky, snarky teen who had given up her baby for adoption.

I was going to say Al Pacino, but then I started thinking and I don't think that would fit the question. Unless I'm mistaken, the orginal question is asking who's famous for acting a certain way at the beginning but then ends up being completely different by the end but they're still famous for how they were at the beginning. The Grinch and Scrooge are good examples.

Yeah, Michael Corleone changed big time, but he's not famous for being the "good guy" that he was at the beginning. He's famous for being the ruthless "bad guy" that he was at the end.

Nobody thinks of Michael Corleone as the good guy he was at the beginning just as nobody thinks of Scrooge or The Grinch as the Christmas loving good guys they were at the end.

I don't know about this. The end scene has been parodied so much in pop culture that I think that's how Rick's perceived by a lot of people who haven't seen the movie. Nobly sending Ilsa off on her way, beginning a beautiful friendship with Louis...none of the guy who sticks his neck out for no one is really part of that perception.

In a lot of ways, Rick is Han Solo's grandfather. Both come around at the very last minute, and I think a lot of people forget that. I've had many a conversation where someone insists that they knew Han was gonna save the day all along, that you can see all this if you just pay attention, etc. I could see that to a point, but I've always wondered what those people would have said if Rick had gotten on that plane or Han Solo hadn't returned at the end.
