Best character introduction in a movie?
So there are many great moments when an iconic or not so iconic character is introduced for the first time in a movie.
I rewatched Superman: The Movie last night and still got a chill when he caught Lois falling from the helicopter and then catching the helicopter itself. I know we got a glimpse after Jor-el's teachings in the fortress, but this was the true introduction and still chilling more than 30 years later.

What are some other great first introductions to a character in a movie?

The reveal comes about 3 mins in, but you need to see the scene to get the effect, and also understand the public image of the actor at that time.

When Fonda arrived on set, he had put on brown contact lenses. Leone threw a fit and demanded (in Italian) that he take them off, that he wanted the audience to see his blue eyes in the closeup.

I think Jack Sparrow's introduction in the first Pirate's movie is one of my favorites. It starts so heroically with the music and the visuals and then gets just ridiculous, which describes that character so perfectly.

Iron Man - When he flies for the first time in the costume.
Spawn - When he crashes the party and his face is covered by the cool spawn mask with neon green eyes.

Boba Fett took the thought right out of my head.
I'll add: Black Dynamite
"Cause when he gets word, hell's a comin'... comin'... comin'"

I think my favorite is the opening scene of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
"I didn't know you were the Sundance Kid when I said you were cheatin'. If I draw on you, you'll kill me."
"There's that possibility."
Good stuff.
Also, one of my favorite bits of introducing a character is still when Darth Vader tells Moff Jerjerrod, "The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am." That told us all we needed to know about Palpatine in one sentence, but of course that 1) depends on a knowledge of Vader and 2) Palpatine had already appeared in a scene in The Empire Strikes Back.

That was a great reveal.
You make a compelling argument. My choice just got away with cheating at cards through the threat of violence.

Another favorite of mine is Pierce Brosnan's reveal as James Bond in GoldenEye. Actually, his reveal as Bond in the GoldenEye trailer might have actually been even better. "You were expecting someone else?"

I totally believe that this is the best western film and one of the best films ever made. And if you can ever call a western an artistic work of art with no issue it's this fucking film.
