National Lampoon's The Legend of Awesomest Maximus

Filmed sometime in 2008 by the director of Revenge of the Nerds. Stars Will Sasso and Rip Torn. Still no firm release date, but I had the misfortune of seeing this the other night and it might be the worst movie I've seen in the last 10 years. And I watch some really SHITTY movies...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1059887/

Just as bad (or worse) as any of the "Movie" Movies.

you lost me at Rip Torn

for the rest of my life, I will think of the flying kick from MIB 2 whenever I see/hear the name Rip Torn

WTF

It's from the guy who also directed National Lampoon's Adam and Eve, which is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Finally, somebody puts the recent hit Gladiator in its place!

Not the trailer, but a clip. NSFW

Hope you do better than I did, I couldn't watch more than 30 seconds. The hero's name is Testiclees. Let me type that again. The hero's name is Testiclees.

Keep in mind, these days Natonal Lampoon doesn't make movies, they just license their name to any shit movie that needs something to sucker people into the theater.

The real question is, did they somehow make a worse film than Meet the Spartans?

Finally, an Ian Ziering star vehicle. This will surely make him a household name again.

I'm surprised National Lampoon if even still around. They haven't been relevant since the 70s. Do they even publish a magazine anymore?

From the clip it looks like it is more a parody of Troy, which is half as old as Gladiator but ten times more obscure.

Maybe we're judging this too quickly. Check out this IMDb review:

This film is destined to become an instant cult classic. Although the film spoofs other films, it is not a collection of skits and gags like Meet the Spartans, which is garbage.

The Legend of Awesomest Maximus actually has a well written script. Khary Patton and Ian Ziering steal the show. Patton as King Erotic will go down as one of the great comedy villains of all times It's right up there with Dr. Evil in Austin Powers. Ziering is hilarious as the narcissistic spoiled brat, Testiclees.
