Things you want to see more in comedies these days?
What are some things you want to see more in comedies nowadays? I have a couple.
1. Actors who don't know they're being funny. I think this is becoming rare.
2. This is similar, but quite the same thing: Ridiculous things in movies, that no character makes mention of. In Kingpin, Woody Harrelson and Bill Murray have horrendous combovers, but no one really points it out. It makes it funnier to me.
What about you guys?

Yea. I don't really laugh anymore. It takes shocking and/or satirical stuff like South Park to get me to laugh out loud.

I've given up on seeing good comedies in the theater, most seem to be 90 minutes of dick jokes and completely unfunny. Hoping that Arrested Development makes it to the big screen.

Enough of the people acting stupid already. It's like Dumb & Dumber x 1000 these days and most of them are already in the bargain bins. When will they wake up, set their stupidpills aside, and exercise their brains a little to come up with a comedy that's actually funny? All the jokes are stale, overused, it's like a bad greetings card store where one card is worse than the last one you read, they're all groaners of varying degree. I haven't laughed out loud since Office Space...

I'll add:
3. background humor - something that happens in the background or something that is just a little bit "off." It also ties in with the "no one mentioning or drawing attention to it."

Good Plotlines. As much as I enjoy ridiculous humor of any sorts, I find them much more enjoyable when intertwined with an actual good story to tell.
