Paranormal Activity 3 - 10/21/11
From Bloody-Disgusting:
Insiders at camp Paranormal Activity tipped B-D off about the first bit of news concerning the inevitable Paranormal Activity 3.
What, you thought Paranormal Activity 2 was the end? Think again. According to B-D, the threequel will open on October 21, 2011.
It will face no competition at that time.
Presently, the only fall 2011 horror release is Dark Castle's The Apparition, and that strikes September 9.
**********************************************
We all knew this was coming, though I wish it wasn't.

No competition? Lionsgate has Dibbuk Box scheduled for 2011, must be the week before or after...
Anyone wondering if they'll try to get Greutert again?

Well, I'm excited. I loved both PA 1 & 2.
If 3 can maintain the quality of the last two, I'm all for it.

They were pretty much just SAW related. He's still on good terms with the PA people, though, and even went to a PA2 screening with the writer. The picture is still available of the two of them together.

As long as Katies chest gets more screen time thus allowing me to stare at her like a crazed stalker for longer, then I don't see how it can be all that bad.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 (CATFISH directors Joost/Schulman) >> 10/21/2011
EDIT: changed to Bloody-Disgusting link because [site apparently redacted?] wouldn't work for some reason...

An intriguing choice. Bet this stirs back up all the "Was Catfish faked?" nonsense.

I'm sure Landon, Michael R. Perry and company have already completed the script and are already head first into pre-production. For a film of this nature, the director is only there to really call the shots during filming. How long could this sequel take to shoot? Four weeks? Post-production is very minimal too. Editing, color correcting, minor VFX work, and sound editing and bam. You got yourselves a Paranormal Activity 3.
[I also wouldn't be surprised if Paramount gave Landon and Perry (alongside Peli, Blum and Schneider) to have carte blanche during post-production. From a studio's view point, they're a "safer" bet to deliver a film that will make money than the Catfish douches.]
For comparison sake, the last sequel was shot in May 2010.

Everything Oren Peli touches seems to turn into studio profit, the studios are loving that guy right now. (Alright it's only 3 movies - PA, PA2, and Insidious, but still has made the studio some nice change (Budget on PA: $15,000 -- Budget on PA2: $2.75m -- Budget on Insidious: $1.5m)

I wasn't a big fan of PA2, felt like too much of what we saw the first time, but I might see a third just to find out where they're taking it.
That's a fact I didn't know, and one I'll keep in mind.

I'm in. I would watch this one regardless of who was directing as long as it managed to bring the suspense/"jump" moments of the first two movies.
I thought they would do this in 3D, sounds like the only type of movie that could really benefit from the 3d treatment.
