Lisa Blount (and her "bodacious ta-ta's"), dead at 53

While it did get a mention in the James MacArthur thread, her death does warrant it's own thread.

"Officer and a Gentleman" Actress Lisa Blount Dies
October 28, 2010

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Lisa Blount, an actress and Oscar-winning filmmaker, was found dead in her home in Little Rock, Ark., on Wednesday by her mother. She was 53.

According to Pulaski County Coroner Garland Camper, Blount likely died Monday. He said there were no signs of foul play.

Blount, as producer, and her husband Roy McKinnon, as director and star, won Academy Awards in 2002 when "The Accountant" was named best live-action short film.

Blount received a Golden Globe nomination for her supporting turn as the best friend of Debra Winger's character in "An Officer and a Gentleman." Her other credits included "Prince of Darkness" and "Great Balls of Fire!"

Blount recently filmed the pilot for FX's "Outlaw Country." A native of Arkansas, she and McKinnon moved to Little Rock in 2005.

In addition to her famous role in An Officer and a Gentleman, Blount was also the female lead in Carpenter's Prince of Darkness and was in Great Balls of Fire! along with several other film and TV credits. I remember her performances in the films I had seen her in being very good. She seemed to be a very solid actress.

So she died on Monday and her mom finds her dead on Wednesday. Very sad. IMDb lists cause of death as heart attack.

Jameson Parker's mustache is wanted for questioning.

On a more serious note, :rip: 53 is way too young.

Well hell fellas... she did cause that young cadet to commit suicide by pulling some nasty business on him.

Awesome pair of sweater puppies she whipped out in "Dead and Buried."

Weird to think that she's dead now, at 53, and was only in her early twenties in that movie I remember watching when I was a kid. That was one of the first "real" horror movies I saw when I was around ten or eleven and sort of scared the shit out of me.
