‘Piranha 3DD’ brings trifecta of awesomeness/awfulness to town

First, we got word that world-class screw-up Gary Busey — who I like to call the poor man’s Nick Nolte — was in town to work on “Piranha 3DD,” filming a scene that involved a dead, bloated cow floating in the waters near Autumn Hall.

Then, the Hollywood Reporter reported that David Hasselhoff was joining a “Piranha” cast that includes Ving Rhames (“Pulp Fiction”), Christopher Lloyd (“Back To the Future”) and Danielle Panabaker (“The Crazies”). Kudos, by the way, to Flaming Amy’s, who invited the Hoff to come in and sample their “Baywatch” burrito.

Now we’re hearing that porn star Ron Jeremy is in the mix as well. Insert (heh heh) joke here. Maybe he’ll have a Sonic burger and be Sonic the Hedgehog.

At any rate, it certainly shows that B-list celeb cameos are a priority for this production. Will they all be eaten by piranha? Only time will tell.

The movie comes out Nov. 23, and since some shooting was done at Jungle Rapids — apparently, one of the plot lines involves piranha invading a water park — no doubt we’ll get to see some local sights. Who knows, maybe The Hoff will even reprise his lifeguard role, only this time at Jungle Rapids. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
