They have zero involvement but they didn't sell the rights. Sony sold the rights. The only word that ever trickled out from Naughty Dog was that they weren't pleased there was to be a movie (long before this Russell/Whalberg clusterfuck) and would not offer an official statement.

I just hope they're not forced to crosspromote the movie with the next game.

While I WILL agree that Kubrick's Shining differs greatly from King's, I don't agree with your comparison. At least there the basic plot structure was the same (guy takes family to hotel and goes crazy while stuck there over the winter).

This sounds like they won't even use the plot from the video game at all. Which makes me wonder why they're calling it "Uncharted" in the first place.

Especially since they seem to be alienating anyone who actually would recognize the brand. I mean, it's a popular game but I don't think it has any mainstream recognition at all.

Well this sounds freaking dumb. Some updates on the movie.

Why does he have to introduce a family into it? I had high hopes for this film early on before mark wahlberg was cast and most were thinking nathan fillion would star. But Mark Wahlberg is miscast. He cant deliver the funny quips like the character did in the game. Nathan Fillion would of been perfect.

The whole family aspect sounds horrible.

Yeah, those are all spot-on except for Sully. J.K. Simmons might look like him in that picture, but voice wise and personality wise, they are totally different. Bruce Campbell was the only choice for Sully.

Olivia Wilde could definitely pull off Chloe. Claudia Black (who voiced Chloe) would've been good too. Why did they include Laurie Metcalf though? Is that some sort of inside joke?

And I can't believe I didn't see Tim Roth as Flynn. That's a great call there.

I saw the 44 second video before and think people are making way more of it than it is. However, 28 seconds into the second video and I have to ask... The second video is a joke, right? Cos the whole comment of "if there are any chicks watching, I appologize for the 'dude'" is kinda funny.

Well saddly this guy I dont think has ever read a discription of what Uncharted games are about or seen the game based on this anwser to IGN.

David O. Russell: Because it's centred around a family, and I like the combination of criminals and truth. These guys they're tough but they're working on this crazy case, and they can't do it without truth. I think that's cool
