I have no doubt that when all is said and done Cranston will have dropped out and someone less interesting will have been cast though.

I don't know why, but somehow I can just picture Cranston mentoring a young impressionable kid, shaping him into his own image and shepherding him into an exciting but dangerous life of crime.

Not bad. They did the best they could do with their budget and locations. I don't think Mircea Monroe is good casting as Elena.

It's just nice to see Fillion in the role since everybody wanted him to be Drake. Amazing to think what this team could do with $35mil or less compared to the $100mil version the studio will probably end up making. They'd be better off letting them make it for cheap and try and earn back some of the money I imagine they've spent on all the development that went nowhere over the years.

Yeah, not bad. I thought a lot of it worked pretty damn well, especially considering the budget.

Wonder if the Tom Holland film is still even on at this point.

That was absolutely glorious in every freakin way possible. I can’t believe my eyes just saw that. Bruce Campbell would have been dream casting sully. But Stephen Lang was a nice and awesome surprise

I realize it’s old news but I don’t really picture Cranston as Sully. Good actor but he doesn’t really fit the bill for a more action-adventure role to me. The obvious choice for Sully is Bruce Campbell. If they could land him it’d be perfect. I’m not all that crazy about Holland as Drake either. He seems too young, I think it should be someone closer to their early to mid thirties.

I guess you missed the part that says it is going to reworked to be a prequel with a young Drake.

Ah, I did admittedly miss that. I just skimmed the last page or so of posts and looked at the thread title. I don’t really see why they’re wanting to re-work the film to feature a younger Drake. It’s not like the character is all that old and you could probably do at least a trilogy of the Drake as he exists in the games if the films ever actually get off the ground. I like Holland as an actor but kind of a weird choice.

I have a feeling this is the best Uncharted movie that we will see. Nothing against Tom Holland and Marky Mark, but Fillion fills in the shoes perfectly.

For that thread recently about why video game movies don't do well... this thread is a good example. Let's take a game that actually put together strong characters and story and just toss all that out and do our own thing.

That was really well done for a fan film. Its crazy how well Fillion fits the Nathan Drake role in real life(even more so since Drake was based on Johnny Knoxville). I enjoyed it and liked it a lot. Too bad they still want to do the Tom Holland version(seriously who the hell wants to see that?).

Very enjoyable. I did feel that Fillion was too old to play Drake, but now I'm not so sure.

The blonde was totally wrong for the part... but otherwise, excellent... and the third person shooter transition scene as very well done.

Yeah, Fillion and Campbell would be fantastic. Loosely adapt one of the games and this writes itself. We don’t need the adventures of young Nathan Drake.

I agree, I just saw this in the Video Game thread. This is amazing! No one would be better at playing Drake than Fillion. I can't believe they don't know this.

Fan film was great. I was slightly disappointed that he didn't have to make a jump for a cliff edge or climb on red bricks, but it was nicely in the spirt of the games.

I agree. He’s pushing 50 (and will probably be in his 60s by the time this movie gets made) but he looks like he’s still got it.

I understand the reason for wanting a “young” Nathan Drake but screw the producers for not being able to get their heads out of their asses in time for an Uncharted franchise with Fillion.

That short was a riot. NF is kind of in the spotlight in our house right now, as we are watching the Castle series for the first time, thanks to TNT starting it from Season 1 a few weeks ago, plus his new one The Rookie looks to be up our alley.
