FRIGHT NIGHT/JAWS connection??

Hello Friends!

In JAWS, the woman in the water who shouts...OH MY GOD!.......Is that the woman who plays the mom in FRIGHT NIGHT? I checked the actress's filmography and she isn't listed on having been in JAWS. Just curious.

I've often wondered if Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang were connected because of Dick Van Dyke.

:D

The shark & the vampire both have big teeth and like to bite people.

Well Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss all have extended cameos in Fright Night. So I guess there's that.

In The Punisher, Roy Scheider's character lives on a beach, so there's a stronger Jaws/Punisher connection than a Jaws/Fright Night one.

The answer to the original question is YES.

Fright Night is based on the original script for Jaws 2. However, when the studio rejected that version, Spielberg walked from the project and the screenplay kicked around for years before being filmed.

In a nutshell, Chief Brody is retired (his character was converted to Peter Vincent). Charley Brewster was the same, but instead of thinking he lived across the street from a vampire, he thought there was a shark in the waters outside his ocean home. He recruits Brody to help him convince others that the shark is real. From there, it plays out more or less the same.

The original title of Jaws was Bite Night.
