This was available for rent early at a mom and pop locally, figured what the hell - reviews have been wrong before.

I have to say I'm really glad I watched it - very enjoyable, very relateable movie. Sure it's cliche, but it's fun to have a warm movie about good people from time to time. It simplifies mental illness a lot but I was willing to let it slide.

I'm normally a pretty cynical movie watcher but something about the movie simply worked. It didn't wear it's "Look I'm being different!" badge nearly as much as 500 Days of Summer and didn't go over the top with the quirk factor of most movies in the genre. The comparisons to Garden State are understandable, but this was, imo, much more enjoyable. It was funny, enjoyable and well paced.

And who knows, maybe it's just the shitty weather, but the sugar coating on this one worked beautifully, in large part to it rarely feeling forced.

It was a rather bland, sterile film. The best part was his Egyptian roomie. I loved how they got him to come out of his room at the end.
