Movies you love despite the subject matter

I thought it was relevant to ask this question with a lot of comments about not wanting to see a movie about Facebook and then missing out on a solid film. What are some movies you enjoy despite not having a real interest in the subject matter?

I'll start with The Red Shoes I can have no interest in ballet, none at all. However, I absolutely adore this film. I have watched the new disc at least 3 times since I got it. It's a great, mildly addicting film.

The Full Monty. I never really got into male stripping.

And, I'm not a boxing fan, but it makes for some of the best sports movies (Raging Bull, Rocky, Cinderella Man, Million Dollar Baby).

I'm not into 20 year old guys banging 79 year old broads, but I do dig Harold and Maude.

i love 'On The Waterfront' and 'How Green Was My Valley' despite both films displaying strong opposition to labor unions.

Comedic sports films (The Water Boy, Happy Gilmore, Major League). I usually find watching most organized sports to be a cure for insomnia, but stuff like this I can watch over and over.

I couldn't care less about auto racing, yet I've liked a few movies/anime series with that subject: "Speed Racer," "Initial D," both anime series, plus those Elvis movies where he played a racer: SPINOUT, SPEEDWAY. And the occasional Howard Hawks movie on the subject (THE CROWD ROARS, 1932, although his 1965 film with that subject, RED LINE 7000, was pretty bad, as I recall).

I wanted the movie to suck but apparently is good so I hate it even more.

Seen it only once but it has played on my mind at least a dozen times. I went to San Francisco scouting all the locations where the movie was filmed. Bought the soundtrack on vinyl, and it kinda given me a desire to visit cemeteries

I don't like asking for directions, but I liked The Last House on the Left.

I love "On the Waterfront" even though it was Kazan & Schulburg's attempt to justifiy being rats by naming names.

I'll say the same for Shaolin Soccer.

And Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room was endlessly fascinating, but I don't know or care to know a thing about energy trading.
