I’m really not a super fan of the first two. Never really grew up with them and just was never that into them. This looks alright and I might check it out. Both guys do look pretty old to be playing these parts the same as they did all those years ago though.

For anyone who thinks "man, these guys look sad and pathetic acting this way while pushing 50", well, that's the point.

I think it looks like a sweet, good natured comedy. Something that’s sorely needed in the world right now. My only concern with the movie is

Seeing Keanu in that trailer after 3 John Wick movies made me chuckle... dude is great.

I've definitely gotten used to the beard. He looks weird without it. Looks a little chunky in the face which the beard apparently hides.

Maybe that's covered in the trailer, I watched it without sound.

I don't think there's going to be a mass of people seeing this that didn't grow up with the original and show it to their children.
The phone booth will be fine.

A quote I saw on Youtube

Bill sounds the same but Reeves as Ted sounds too old. I get they’re 50 year old slackers, but it sounds fake coming from Keanu at this point.

Decided to have a double feature with the kiddos the other night before showing them the Face the Music trailer.
Excellent Adventure is still amazing. Everything about it is just fun. I'd shown it to the kids a few years back but they didn't remember much. They loved it. The humor is fantastic and the story of traveling through time to put on a history report holds up remarkably well. Winters and Reeves are delightfully adorable in their naiveté which makes their final report all that more amazing.
Bogus Journey didn't fare near as well. I'd only seen it once thirty years ago when it came out and didn't remember much and there's probably a reason for that. This movie is a an absolute trainwreck. The humor is stale and it felt like Winters and Reeves were just going through the motions. About the only thing that does work (which the kids agreed on) was Death. He stole every scene he was in and basically saved the entire movie from being a waste of time. All but abandoning the time travel wasn't the best idea.
Anyway, so we're all set for the new flick.

Both films are eminently watchable for me, and I consider challenging Death to a game to be the funniest sequence in either film. That having been said, I'm not sure how big the audience is for a third film 28 years later. Most of the original film fans are +/- 50 years old now.

Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey is so much darker and unpleasant compared to the upbeat, whimsical original. Indeed the humor isn't as witty and it just seems much more Hollywood-y as well. The only thing where it tops the original is that it looks a lot better production and direction wise. But, I agree with you all: William Sadler as Death is fun!

Introduced my 10 y/o to Excellent Adventure last night. He loved it. We’re going to watch Bogus Journey sometime today. I’m really curious to see what he thinks of that one. I personally love it, but understand the arguments of those that don’t.

Maybe I wasn’t in the mood, but when I last tried to watch Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure I was having a hard time with it. Certain films reek of the era they were made, and not in a good way. To me that’s how it came across. Some films age better than others and I think maybe not seeing it much when I was younger I never developed a love for it (or the sequel). I’ll give it a go again sometime.
