Ah, thanks. $20 to rent, $25 to own.
So I need to decide now if I want to burn $25 of my $40 Google Rewards credits (which makes the most sense money-wise), or spent $25 of new money on Vudu (which is where nearly all of my digital stuff is).... if this ends up being a MA title it won't matter because it'll port everywhere, but I don't know if that's going to be the case or not.

Not at all. I had initially thought it was going to suck when the posted "official" running time was 78 minutes. IMDB and other official sources said it was 78 minutes. As it stands now, it has a chance of not sucking.

Does anyone see this scheduled in theaters by them for this Friday? I see New Mutants secheduled for this Friday at theaters near me in Illinois, but nothing about Bill & Ted.

Maybe, but maybe it just encourages VOD rentals instead. 'Why pay $20 to go to a movie theater to see this new movie and maybe get exposed to COVID when we can stay home and watch it here for the same price?'.

I've been chatting with the local Drive-in owner. They're showing the Russell Crowe film Unhinged through Wednesday, haven't made a decision about next week yet but should very soon. They're the only game in town right now and margins are razor thin so he needs to be certain that he can show B&T at the current $7 adult, $5 student, $3 child prices (plus concessions) and come out even or in the black. He says he'll decide between that and New Mutants in the next day or so.
I've already bought the film on Google Play, but would love to see it on the big screen too.

Ours rented out a giant field and is doing it for a somewhat steep $24/car (for Bill and Ted), I may go support them if I get the chance.

$24 per car is for one movie or for a double feature? Our local drive in is right in line with that if you have two adults, and yours is cheaper if you have more than that. They charge per person, not per car. $12 for adults and $5 for kids, but it's always a double feature for that price. That's what we will likely do for New Mutants or Bill and Ted this weekend (or if we get lucky, both, but I doubt that they would pair 2 new releases together. Typically each new release is paired with an older film, to sell more tickets).

My drive in is showing B&T3 but only for 2 nights, Friday and Sunday. Saturday is the Metallica concert and the theater goes dark starting Monday for maintenance.
