Google VLC, download it.
Watch a DVD/Blu and hit 'shift+s' keys on keyboards to capture a frame.
Upload it to Photobucket, Imageshack, etc.

If your computer has a DVD drive, download VLC Player (free). The program has a "snapshot" feature that one can set to appear on the main toolbar, which makes it especially easy to just click away as one is watching a movie. Play the movie and take snapshots. Upload those shots to a photo storage website (Imageshack and Photobucket are both excellent).
When ready to post a movie, cut-and-paste a screenshot's url to this thread between [url ][/url] tags.

That's a keen guess, because that does look like Belmondo standing there.

Nope. But you have the right decade.
The author character in this film can be seen in that shot.
Here's a shot of that character at work.

Wow, I was sure he was right, though Belmondo's hair colour is lighter than that of the man standing with his back turned. (Rubs hands together) Back to work.

Great, thanks. I didn't have the foggiest until I put two-and-two together with the author and occult aspects, thanks to an assist from a handy little movie website called IDBM or something.
I'll have something up soon.

I'll have to be especially vague to not tip folks off to this indelible classic, probably the most well-known movie I have personally posted. Any single image could trigger an "aha" moment.

No, but this film shares two cardinal features with that one. Edited to add: Somewhat oddly, 1900 is listed under this film's "recommendations" at IMDb.

No. Obscurelabia had the right decade and his guess was much closer in some ways. I'm not in a position right now to add more shots, but I will later when I get home.
This was the first "composer" credit for the man who did the film's score. He is one of my favourite film composers, and his score for this film is one of the very best in this film's "genre" (not that those subjective comments will provide much help, I imagine). I put genre in quotations because the film doesn't really belong to one genre.

This movie was the following actor's final one. It had been over thirty years since his previous acting role. He had only 16 credits in his career, but several of them were in fairly prominent films. The actor's own house is actually used in the key opening scenes of the film.
This shot is part of a famous (some would say "infamous") montage-like sequence:

These caps really should ring a bell or two. I'd be surprised if this movie hasn't been seen by upwards of 75% of the people viewing this thread.
