I had just bought "UHF" a few days ago and was planning on watching it this week. A great comedic performance that I bet a lot of people never saw.

Re: RIP: Kevin McCarthy (1914-2010)

I was lucky enough to meet him at a convention a couple years ago and had him sign a Body Snatchers lobby card for me. Always loved him in that one and UHF.

He was always a likable on-screen presence, even in B-grade stuff like Piranha and The Howling.

I remember him from a live- action computer game called Pandora Directive. Sounds like he got his money's worth out of this life. RIP.

He was also one of Montgomery Clift's closest friends, featured prominently in Patricia Bosworth's Clift bio.

I really, really, really liked Kevin McCarthy's work and I'm genuinely sad to learn he has passed. A wonderful actor with some wonderful roles. I miss him already.

He was a pretty youthful looking guy - 40-plus in Body Snatchers, but looked a decade younger.

Re: RIP: Kevin McCarthy (1914-2010)

His passing became the subject of tonight's Grandparent's Day dinner conversation. My in-laws remembered him in A Big Hand for the Little Lady, to me he'll always be the team owner in Kansas City Bomber, and to my kids he was the black & white guy from Looney Tunes: Back in Action. Damn, what a career.

For better or worse, I best remember him as Uncle Walt in Twilight Zone: The Movie.

And a scant few days ago, there he was showing up on my TV in Matinee, poking fun at the b-flicks. What a cool guy!

96 is too young to die.
