so what do you think is the worst final scene of a movie (whether it is a good movie or bad)?

Last American Virgin. Looks like the movie will end on a happy note. But, again, heartbreak happens. Does he get revenge by getting a hotter girl? Does she realize her mistake and goes running after him? We never know because the movie fucking ends right there!

i actually love that ending. i didn't understand it when i saw it as a kid bc before then i don't think i ever saw a movie end on such a downbeat. later, however, i think it is one of the most heartbreaking ends to such a silly film.

I've seen PLENTY of 80's teen comedies as a kid (most at the theatres) but I have to admit that to this day I have never seen this movie.

Without knowing if this final scene really works within the context of the whole movie, I have to say I like it a lot. It's the depressing ending you never see in these types of movies and really gives the character a kick to the throat.

Haha. You're missing that it's a Montey Python movie. They came in and arrested the murderers, right? Like, "hey, what the hell, you've been killing people, you're mass murderers".

Or maybe the writers just got bored with the idea. Or maybe they were just trying to "beat" Blazing Saddles (or vice versa, I don't know the release years).

That is a lot less messed up and surreal than Terry Gilliam's movies.

I've never heard of this movie but I like that scene. It depresses me how I can totally relate to having the rug pulled out from under him but I think it's how a lot of silly rom-coms should end.

Anyhoo, though I thought it was brilliant, I know plenty of people who hate the final scene of The Italian Job.

When I first saw The Birds, my mom and I wanted to call the broadcasters to ask if they'd cut off the last five minutes or something.

But the single worst ending on a movie I've watched must be that for The Children of the Corn (aka "we ran out of money so we just slapped a "The End" caption on it and called it a day).
