Re: Worst Movie You've Seen In A Long Time ?

Old Dogs.

I knew it was going to be terrible, but after listening to the "How did this get made?" Podcast I felt I needed to see it.

Beyond stupid, and some parts of the story are so idiotic I felt like I had taken some sort of hallucinogen before I watched it.

I have plans to watch Deadfall soon. I get the feeling I will be posting that in here in a couple of days.

Re: Worst Movie You've Seen In A Long Time ?

I don't know that I would say it ranks as one of the "worst" movies I've seen in a while, but I was really disappointed by The Presidio, which I saw for the first time recently. It's a terribly generic 80s cop/military story. Only the presence of Sean Connery, Mark Harmon and Meg Ryan kept it from being entirely dull. They're not given much to work with, but at least I like seeing them on screen.

For me... Country Strong. Truly a horrible film. Great music. Horrible film.

Isn't any DTV release a view at own risk adventure? Fortunately my kids were getting older by the time all the DTV sequels started being pumped out. Although I will admit to being a martial arts DTV addict in the 80's

Legion

Not even ceiling walking grannies can save this mess of a film. Turned it off after 30 minutes in.

We used to play a game where you would take a shot every time when it looks like Paul Walker and Tyrese are about to kiss. You will get drunk within 20 minutes. It is gayer than a thousand Top Gun volleyball scenes.

It is hilarious, Tyrese is pissed that Paul Walker wants to hang out with that hot girl the entire time. The movie is horrible

I am looking forward to Fast Five.

I recently saw Corpse Eaters, a homemade 1974 horror flick that's among the worst I've ever seen. Microbudgeted, and the only discernable talent is in the zombie makeup effects.

Watched How Do You Know last night. Almost unwatchable. I don't know how you could make a film that bad on purpose. And with such a great cast! What a shame.

The most curious part of it to me was the fact that, after years of Jack Nicholson basically playing Jack Nicholson, it felt like this time he was playing Lewis Black. Really weird.

Very long movies with very slow plots while being overly pretentious movies. And ive tried quite a few times to watch them figuring that maybe the first time I just couldn't get into it, and several attempts later on guessing that my mood wasn't into them the previous attempt.

Eat, Pray, Love - Did not like the trailer and only made it through 5 min of the movie. Went outside the theater to wait for the wife.

Not my idea of a great date movie, someone who wants to leave her husband...

You left after 5 minutes and waited two hours for your wife?

What the fuck is wrong with you?

I watched one of the early trailers, but haven't paid much attention to the recent advertisements. I don't remember much from it, I just want to see the film because I loved Moon. If you're searching for "twists" in trailers and "twists" are the reason you watch films, you're watching films for all the wrong reasons.

that's the problem, I'm not looking for twists in trailers and i hate them in films - but the trailer makes it soooooooo obvious that this movie is an absolute mess and that the twist is
Spoiler:
that the girl is the bomber
that I just had to laugh at it.

It's rare I will like a Tarantino movie right from the get go.

So, much like Tarantino, Kubrick is an acquired taste. Just like drinking coffee (which still smells like dirty feet to me, and tastes the same I assume)
Kubrick is polarizing. Some people just can't tolerate him, and never will.

Back on topic: Someone recently showed us The Apple. You would not believe how bad it is. Golan/Globus get all mystical and preachy and very, very serious. The messiah is a rock star who saves the hippies from satan, who is a producer. Lots of disco clothes and sets. Horrible music. Even the gay motorcycle cop dance troop isn't fun.

People who have seen the movie have stated that the "twist" mentioned in brizz's post doesn't happen at all.
