'Meat Grinder' - get ready for this one sickos.

Sounds like a Thai version of "Dumplings."

Story

PREPARE to hide behind your sofa - as 'the most graphic gore film ever' is soon to be released.

The devilishly named Meat Grinder, now certified as an 18, certainly has a title that suggests human insides will soon be on the outsides.

And now the BBFC, responsible for classifying films within the UK, have just given the Thai movie the green light to a completely uncut version.

Horror fans will be treated to plenty of blood splattering and cannibalism, with gruesome scenes including nails being hammered through fingernails and multiple dismemberment of limbs.

The film tells the story of a deranged woman who runs a noodle stall and starts hearing voices in her head.

When she finds a dying man in her stall one night, she decides to chop him up and grind his body parts into meatballs as ingredients for her soup.

When the dish proves popular and business begins to flourish, she must find a steady supply of fresh human meat to feed her customers.

Even the company distributing the film had doubts it could ever be released in the UK uncut.

Tony Taglienti, Managing Director at 4 Digital Media said: "We were expecting the BBFC to send us to the cutting room before being able to release it.

"We are pleased that this is not the case and applaud their decision to let the public have the chance to watch it as the filmmakers intended."

Meat Grinder hits shelves on August 23.

I think the sound design is too much. Visually...yeah...disturbing but..I hate it when the audio is too over the top for those scenes...it kills what seriousness it has. Wonder if it's actually good...

For some reason this one doesn't bother me. I watch Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern and people out there eat some pretty nasty shit. So jumping to humans doesn't seem that shocking anymore.

^ Cannibalism isn't shocking in the slightest. Zombie movies are essentially cannibal movies. And human meat looks just like any other kind of meat, especially if it's gone through a meat grinder.

The horror will come from the murder and "processing" of the bodies, not the eating.

I would say the cannibalism aspect has a lot to do with the horror aspect of the film. People are used to seeing people get killed in gruesome ways on screen, so this film is trying to up the shock factor by having customers unknowingly eat human meat therefore making people think, "it could happen to me!"

But in general, I agree with you. The actual consumption part in not scary, just unsettling and disturbing.

If this is a Thai movie, why did they put Chinese characters on the cover?

Re: 'Meat Grinder' - get ready for this one sickos.

Ehhh, just seems like a regular cannibalism tale.

Dumplings was disturbing on the basis that
Spoiler:
they were eating aborted babies
, for some reason that just seems more grotesque.

speaking of which, currently reading this about the cannibal of Rotenburg. It's one thing seeing it faked in a movie. Reading about how this guy really GOT INTO IT is another thing entirely ...

sorry for the derail

Yawn. Thse gore flicks bore me now. As a horror fan, I want scares, not blood. Well, some blood, but not a swimming pools worth in every film.

For some reason the fact that his victim was willing makes it even more disturbing.

I actually visited Rotenburg a few years ago. Actually a pretty cool little place.

I visited Rothenburg last summer. Happy to see it wasn't the same place.

Re: 'Meat Grinder' - get ready for this one sickos.

Look kinda interesting but it also looks like it could be a dud. Though I'm sure some here will say it's the best gore flick ever since it's Foreign.
