There's no Trey Anastasio cameo, if that's what you're asking.

Strange. This isn't showing anywhere near me. I haven't heard anything about it being a limited release, so I'm a bit confused. And the fact that no one here is talking about it also has me scratching my head. Anyone? Am I in the future?

127 Hours is no exception and is playing in 4 theaters this weekend. (Megamind, by comparison, is playing in nearly 4,000 locations) No word on how/when it will expand (they usually base it off of how well it does in limited) but it will likely be December before it's reasonably wide-spread (tho still limited)
For Comparison - Slumdog Millionaire opened in 10 theaters on November 14th, 2008 making $360,000. It expanded bit by bit every weekend, hitting 169 theaters on December 12th. It wasn't officially a "wide release" until Jan 23rd, 2009 when it went from 500 theaters to 1400 theaters. It continued expanding and peaked Feb 27th in 2,943 theaters. When it officially closed in May of 2009, it made $141.4m in the US.
All that means is, if 127 Hours gets some oscar nominations and does well in limited, it will go wide in early 2011. Since these are lower budget movies (Slumdog Millionaire cost $15m, I'm sure 127 Hours is around that), there's a lot more financial risk with a wide release than there is with a platform release.

I saw this last Thursday and while I was thinking I wouldn't be all that impressed, I was wrong, Boyle delivered a great movie, his widely cinematic style beautifully complimented the intensity of the story and it's lead character, Franco really did an impressive acting performance.

Saw this last night. Great, great movie, but I don't think I can ever watch it again.
It wasn't the gore - could stomach that just fine. But I felt uncomfortable the entire length of the movie. I don't think any film has ever come close to causing that sort of reaction for me.

Yeah...to me there's no reason to faint at something that I know is fake. I might get disturbed at MOST but not literally freak out and faint. Jesus...

Just saw it today in Pasadena. Tough movie to sit through at times, constantly putting myself in Aron's situation. I had the same feeling with Ryan Reynold's movie, Buried. Franco did an outstanding job. He'll get nominated come awards season.

Saw this tonight in Seattle. Really really enjoyed it. Going in, I wasn't too excited about Boyle--Slumdog left a really bad taste in my mouth--but this really redeems him. Franco's great, and the script works because it is quite dramatic, but also has some pretty hilarious parts.
I have a feeling this will get branded "the movie where the guy cuts off his arm," and while that's definitely true, the way you get to that point is insanely interesting. The whole time I was watching, I was thinking about how awful the situation would be and what I'd do (... ermmmmm, probably die?)
As far as Phish goes

Thanks Wazootyman
As a fan of Phish and knowing how much their music means to Aron, I was curious how it was going to be handled in the movie. I finally get to see the movie this weekend, can't wait to turn green.

My friend and her brother went to see this last night in LA. He passed out and she freaked, so they both missed the last 20 min of the movie. Hilarious!

I couldn't see fainting in it, and I'm a guy who really hates blood.

The movie was great, this is sure to garner a few awards this season. Franco is going to be making numerous awkward award speeches. His reactions right after the incident say everything, the shock, fear and wonder. I loved how they played up the will to live aspect, i don't know if I've ever seen a movie pull that off.
Great job Danny Boyle

Saw it this afternoon and really enjoyed it. The hallucination sequences dragged a bit, but there are plenty of moments of high tension. Liked that they didn't ever try to paint Ralston as a super hero, but instead as flawed, awkward, naive, and incredibly resourceful.
One person walked out just prior to the cutting. And even though I knew what was coming, it's impossible not to squirm during that sequence (which was still way more restrained than it could have been).

I thought it was good, not great. Like others said, I like some of Boyle's camera stuff, some of it I don't. It can be distracting, and I would've preferred not as much editorial craziness, all the music, etc. But they made the most out of what amounts to a pretty simple story. I've never been a fan of Franco, and I could still see some of his limitations in there. But he did what was needed, and I didn't hate him in the movie, so from that standpoint it was a success. Not award worthy though, imo.
