Why did Jeffersons Brother Let Spicholi Drive the car?

Why did Jeffersons Brother Let Spicholi Drive the car?
Was watching Fast Times At Ridgemont High earlier this evening and a question occured to me:

Why did Jeffersons Brother Let Spicholi Drive the car?

Spicholi was a pretty well known pot head and I'm assuming Jeffersons had this knowledge. Yet he lets Him drive his brothers sports car that knew if damaged would shit and kill him.

The kid was like 13, and Spiccoli was giving him pot.

I think the better question is why Spiccoli was hanging out with such a young kid.

You should check out the commentary(or is it one of the documentary clips?)on the DVD. It talks about that very thing. Pretty funny too.

I am still looking for the alternate copy of this movie with the unofficial soundtrack.

It's the same audio commentary that makes you think the movie is 15 minutes longer than it actually is
