Tremors 5: Bloodlines (2015)
On another board there was the following:
Thunder from Down Under is being filmed soon.
It takes place in Austraila Michael Gross will
be returning as Burt Gummer and Kevin Bacon
and Fred Ward might be signing on.
Anyone know of any concrete details?

Re: Rumor - Tremors 5?
For me, Tremors is one of the all time greats. Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward in another sequel just sounds to good to be true. Of course Michael Gross will be in it.
I remember the second one not being too bad for DTV, never saw all the others.

"TREMOR5"? I didn't know they made 3 sequels. Never saw any of them, but I probably wouldn't want to. The original was a classic. Damn, I better watch my HD DVD copy of it.

Re: Rumor - Tremors 5?
Tremors is one of my favorites... it's one of those movies I had on VHS (first taped off USA, later... an actual retail copy) and would watch everyday after school to the point of having all the dialog memorized (probably like a lot of us, I would go through these phases with movies when I was younger). I've easily seen the flick close to 100 times. I still find it to be great fun, though the obsessive daily viewing of it ceased many, many years ago.
None of the movies come close to the first movie (IMHO a genre classic), but the second one is decent and the fourth one is actually not terrible either. I haven't been able to finish the 3rd one or really get into the TV show... I found them that bad.
I'll see this regardless, but if they can bring back Bacon/Ward then this would be such a priority for me.

I saw the first one, but once I realized that Michael Gross was just rehashing his character from "Family Ties" I lost interest.

Re: Rumor - Tremors 5?
It pretty much stops with the second film for me. I thought it was a great, sensible follow-up.
Not a fan of 3 and I'm currently watching 4 for the first time, and I keep stopping it to watch other things, because it's just dull and poorly made. Never saw any of the TV series.

First one was terrific, second one was just okay. I don't think I saw any of the others, or the TV series.
If Ren McCormack and Remo Williams are back, then I say heck yes.

Bacon would never return. C'mon. Unless it's a reboot and he has a small cameo he won't be back. I doubt Fred Ward would either. This is going to be a DTV.

Re: Rumor - Tremors 5?
Booya.
The fifth heart-pounding installment in the action-packed sci-fi comedy-adventure franchise, Tremors 5 began principal photography in South Africa on September 22, 2014. With even more deadly creatures on the loose, Tremors 5 continues the films' hallmark combination of adrenaline-laced suspense, explosive action and tongue-in-cheek humor. Michael Gross returns for his fifth appearance in the Tremors films alongside new cast member, Scream film series star Jamie Kennedy in this original release from Universal 1440 Entertainment, a production entity of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Tremors 5 will be released on Blu-Ray Hi-Def, DVD and Digital HD in 2016.
The theatrical release of the original Tremors in 1990 combined suspense-filled action, sci-fi imagination and witty humor in the tale of a tiny Nevada town terrorized by giant man-eating worms known as Graboids. The Graboids eventually morphed into even more deadly creatures known as Ass Blasters. In this all-new adventure that travels halfway around the world to South Africa, the Graboids and the Ass Blasters are not only bigger and badder but Tremors 5 introducesan additional unexpected surprise that raises the stakes in the battle for survival.
"The Tremors franchise has built a reputation for high intensity fun and suspense and this installment takes it to a whole new level," said Glenn Ross, General Manager and Executive Vice President, Universal 1440 Entertainment.
Michael Gross ("Anger Management," "Suits," "How I Met Your Mother," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Family Ties," Tremors franchise) returns as weapons enthusiast and expert subterranean creature hunter Burt Gummer with Jamie Kennedy ("The Cleveland Show," "Ghost Whisperer," Scream series) as his new right hand man, tech-savvy Travis. The pair are joined by an international cast as they mount a battle against the deadly creatures that turns out to be far more than they bargained for.
The film is directed by Don Michael Paul (Jarhead 2: Field of Fire, Sniper: Legacy) from a script by John Whelpley (Tremors 3: Back to Perfection, TV's "Dallas") and produced by Ogden Gavanski (The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Fire, Warm Bodies).

So basically just another shitty DTV sequel. Of course rumors of Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward returning were too good to be true. But Jamie Kennedy is just as good...

Re: Rumor - Tremors 5?
I guess if it is DTV, I'm OK with the 5 in the name. Would be horrible for a theatrical release since 2-4 were DTV. If theatrical, it would have to be Tremors: _________ .
