5nal Destination - The trend of putting numbers in titles continues
Warner Bros announced the (ridiculous) tentative title of their next installment to the Final Destination franchise. Like the last film, this one will also be in 3-D and is scheduled for a August 26, 2011 release.
Steven Quale, 2nd Unit Director of Titanic and Co-Director of Cameron's Aliens of the Deep doc. will be directing, with a script by Eric Heisserer (The Thing and Nightmare on Elm Street Remakes).
WB has also revealed that the opening disaster will involve the destruction of as suspension bridge.

In other news, the IMDB board for the movie is already flooded with "Anal Destination" Jokes.

I enjoyed the first three but the fourth movie killed my desire to see this franchise continue.
There would need to be a kick ass trailer and insanely rave reviews to get me to see this.

Reads more like "Snail Destination." I hope it's an animated fable about a wayward mollusk.

That title doesn't make sense on a visual level OR on a meaning level. Replacing two letters for whatever reason, with a number that doesn't match phonetically OR visually to the letters it is replacing... I don't get it.
I agree with the IMDB posters that visually '5nal' instantly evokes 'Anal' more than of 'Final'. If they insist on the number-as-letter title concept, at least use a little logic and make it Final De5tination.

I think I actually saw a movie called "Anal Destination" once. It wasn't released theatrically, but there was definintely a lot of screaming and pain in it.

I wonder if part 5 will have a cheesy animated ending like the last one?

Also, if Brian Tyler returns to score, I hope he doesn't botch it royally like he did with the fourth movie. I usually like his work a lot but I hated that noisy and obnoxious score.

Not for me. Although 3 was a step down from 2, it was leagues better than 4. 4 only had one wrothwhile scene (the aforementioned salon sequence) and the rest was just tedious and lazy. It was made worse by the cheesy x-ray intro of all the fun deaths from the previous three movies. Nothing in the fourth movie came close.

Agreed. as much as I liked the first 3, I disliked the last one. I saw it at the theater and haven't bothered revisiting it.

I loved the first one, thought the second one was good, and I actually liked part 3 more than the second one. I have yet to see #4 yet, but if it is like people have said in this thread, I won't be in a rush to watch it.
P.S. Some Crackpot on IMDB thinks they titled it this because they are trying to ignore part four. Really. His reasoning? This new title only has 4 characters in the 'Final' part of it.

Yeah, I thought the thread was about a movie called "Anal Destination" as well. I did a double take and wondered for a few seconds. I had to click on the thread to figure it out.
Anal Destination... such a perfect porn version for the Final Destination movie! Why didn't I think of it before? (Which gives me an opportunity to share my most recent idea for a new porn movie based on an actual movie...Clash of the Tightholes!)

4th one sucked balls and they would have to return to the feel of the first few to get me to see this one. That Anal Destination video sucked and I would have been ashamed to have my name in the credits which took up almost 1 minute of its 4 minute runtime.

I was going to post the Anal Destination thing, but it looks like everybody else noticed it as well.
Seems like their marketing guys would catch that before release.
