??? Movie about underwater family w/ animation??? (60's?)
 

A friend asked me if I knew of a film from possibly the 60's with live-action of a family living underwater - and there may be some animated sequences also. He just saw "Incredible Mr. Limpet" on cable and thought that would be it, but it's not. To me, it seemed familiar and something I maybe saw on tv many years ago and I was thinking possibly either Hayley Mills or Jerry Lewis for some reason, but looking both of them up, nada. Anyone have any ideas? :-)

'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea' (tv series)?

no scratch that - there's no family in that.

'living' in the sea is distracting because - the characters in Bedknobs don't actually live there.

Possibly "Hello Down There" (1969) with Tony Randall? It was about a family who lived under water. I haven't seen it in years, but I remember a very young looking Richard Dreyfuss singing in it.

The opening credits are animated.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll pass on the info of both BEDKNOBS & BROOMSTICKS and HELLO DOWN THERE. I think the one I was remembering was HELLO DOWN THERE and I was mistakenly thinking Jerry Lewis when it was actually Tony Randall. But I'll let my friend know both and see what he says.
