TRICK-OR-TREAT! It's Halloween day in the quiet rural community of Haddonfield, Illinois. Judith Myers and her best friend D'arcy Mims are planning a Halloween night campout at The Myers House with their friends. Judith is trying to forget the growing tensions in her family and wants to immerse herself in a carefree celebration, but her reclusive brother's presence casts an ominous shadow over their cheerful preparations.

This short film breaths life into an often overlooked character from John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN - Judith Myers may have only had a short appearance in the classic film, but she nevertheless played a crucial role in the forming of the Michael Myers story. Director Josh Hasty (A Mannequin in Static) and writer Kenny Caperton (the creator of The Myers House NC) join forces to reinvent a classic character in an original new story.

a friend of mine wrote this...and he currently resides in an exact replica of the original michael myers house (where this short was shot): http://www.myershousenc.com/

the film will be available for FREE via streaming at the website mentioned above starting may 22nd.

The movie is put together very well. The beginning in particular is exceptional. The masked teens frolicing, the trick or treaters and countryside all create nostalgic feelings for Oct 31st for me, as well as being a little creepy and ominous.

I wish I had known it was merely inspired by HALLOWEEN before watching it. For the first half I was getting distracted thinking of things that didn't fit with the John Carpenter movie, before I realized JUDITH wasn't supposed to be that kind of movie.

The only nitpicks I would make is length. Everything can always be a little bit shorter. Also, I missed the significance of the moment when Michael was looking at the photographs at the end. The eye holes over the picture are so blurry around the edges I couldn't make out what the pictures were.

Not a bad little tribute film. I picked up a copy of the dvd and it arrived quickly with nice cover/disc art and some extra stickers, etc. Makes a nice companion piece to my Halloween LE and 25 Years of Terror set, although as mentioned above, its not intended to be a direct prequel.

I thoroughly enjoyed the flick and was checking out the website and saw that there was a very limited DVD release and I decided that I must have it. I definitely recommend the movie to any horror junkies out there, in particular Halloween nuts.

The DVD arrived today and it's a very nice package and I'm very happy with it. I got number 34/100. What number is yours Jack?

I misread the title as Judith Light: She Stayed Home

Re: Judith: The Night She Stayed Home (A Halloween Tribute Film) (2010)

Thanks, RagingBull. I was considering using it as a starting point for a fanedit of Rob Zombie's Halloween that would resemble the original JC version and with the runtime being that long it should work great. Now I can have all the backstory BS edited out and still have a solid little flick
