A-Team was good, it's a shame it's doing so poorly.

But on the other hand, Fox is one of the worst studios out there, so karma's a bitch.

I'm pleased to see Marmaduke doing so poorly.

Even with moviegoers obviously starved for family fare (see KK and Shrek 4 BO numbers for reference), it speaks to how craptacular that looked.

What a pathetic lineup of movies in the midst of the summer.

Re: Weekend Box Office (6/11-6/13), or: when a plan doesn't come together

I expected the first 2 spots to be reversed. I was hoping nothing but failure for the remake of one of the most awesome 80s films ever made. I guess The Goonies will be next and it'll never stop. Hollywood will never have to try anymore. Just remake every damn thing over and over again and the flock of robots will keep buying tickets.

A-Team did receive a B+ from Cinemascore. Maybe it can stretch out past $100 million. But I have a feeling the budget on this was much higher. It looks like Fox's hopes of a big Summer smash now relies on Predators.

Happy to see Greek with a good hold. It's too bad it didn't open higher as it looks like it's guaranteed between $50-$60 million. I thought after seeing it, and all the positive reviews, that it would have been a $100 million movie.

Shrek had another good hold, but unfortunately for it, Toy Story 3 opens next weekend.

After Sunday, Iron Man 2 will be just $11 million ahead of Iron Man at the same release point.

i am pretty much shocked at that take for the A Team. I thought for sure it would do much much more. Ouch.

It's still "spring"

I wonder if word of mouth will help A-Team, people seem to be liking it enough.

I thought A-Team would do better. A lot of underperforming movies this summer. Not surprised at the Karate Kid take though, it's gotten a ton of promotion and doesn't look terrible.

Maybe Fox shouldn't have filled the ads with a really lame CG tank falling through the air.

I agree. Thought A-Team would do better. Saw it & liked it. Also not surprised at Karate Kid. Besides the promotion it is extremely good. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it.

Great, another Black actor taking over for a White persons role. Gee, imagine what would happen if it was reversed. PASS.

Yeah I saw that spot...WTF. Dreadful. I'm not interested in seeing the film anyway, but still...

Surprised the BO isn't better.

I heard they're remaking Full House and Tracy Morgan will be taking over for Bob Saget.

It really is an insult to Mr. T's Irish-American heritage.

Yeah, those were the only previews I saw on tv... surprised they put so much emphasis on it. I didn't think it was a particularly good scene..

Sad to see A-Team coming up short. Not that I was ever that eager to see it, but I'm a Joe Carnahan fan and I hope this isn't a death blow for him when it comes to more big-budget action flicks.

They had other ads early on that made it look cool, but for the last couple weeks it's just been the tank ad, which came across as a loud, dumb cartoon.

Re: Weekend Box Office (6/11-6/13), or: when a plan doesn't come together

Dang, guess audiences only want family fare for pacification purposes nowadays. Almost everyone seems to like A-Team who sees it, so word of mouth might keep it afloat. I just hope this doesn't make people start changing their opinions of the movie's quality.

(i.e. people in Hollywood see it, like it, but after it underperforms suddenly think it's a piece of shit)

I think you meant another non-Japanese actor taking over a Japanese role. Last year it was STAR TREK...this year, KARATE KID. Sheesh!
