A blast. Cast OWNS this one.

If Carnahan ends up directing Preacher (or not), Bradley Cooper must play Jesse Custer.

I went and saw this last night with my fiance. She didn't think she would enjoy it but ended up REALLY liking it. It was a great summer action movie or "popcorn flick", like a lot of people on here like to call it. We saw a 5:10 showing and the theater wasn't very busy but I just figured it was the time we saw it.

My guess is, this movie will end up getting repeat and word of mouth business. I can see myself going back and seeing this a second time in the theater.

Yeah, thanks to you guys, I'm going to see this too. Almost didn't go because of that cheesy tank in mid air scene.

Took my 15 year old son to see the movie today - we both loved it.

Lots of fun "Over the top" action. Humor in the right places for the A-Team. Paid respect to the TV show, but did not shove it in your face (well, until after the closing credits, 2 funny sceens after the credits run.

They could not have done a better job with making a movie of the A-Team.

Actors were perfect for their roles, not just like the TV roles (which I would not want them to be), but perfect for the movie.

One of the funnest movies I have seen all year (Saw Avatar last December).

My vote goes for the "A-Team 2" for 2012 or ealier.

NOW BRING ON Toy Story 3.

I was actually dreading this scene. But it turned out awesome! The more ludicrous it got, the better it got.

The casting, for the most part of the new film franchise, The A-Team, was pretty good, they played off one another well, and the film's pacing moved the plot along rather swiftly.

There was enough action sequences to satisfy this fan of the TV show from the 1980's, though the action gets a little murky in the final act of the film since it takes place at night.

I enjoyed it for what it was: a big, loud, action-filled time at the movies.

I give it 2.75 stars, or a grade of B-.

P.S. Oh yeah, definitely stick around until the very end of the credits.

People are doomsaying over the box office but I hope that a) it has good legs, b) international business is good, and c) home video business is extremely good.

What with them trying to turn everything into a franchise it's rare that I actually want to see sequels to something, but I definitely would like more A-Team.

Someone apparently gave it 1 star 1/2 in the Poll. I'd like to know who that was and why they thought that.

As an earlier poster said, it is indeed a "popcorn" flick. Not outstanding, but one of the best summer movies we've gotten yet (and much better than the over-bloated IRON MAN 2). I gave it three and a half stars, or a B+

Considering the source material, it's about the best we could hope for of a movie based on "The A-Team".

Saw a screening today and also enjoyed the hell out of it. Just pure entertainment, which we have sorely lacked so far. Sharlto Copley was just awesome as Murdock. This had alot more laughs than I was expecting and the action scenes were great and fairly clever and I loved that 3D sequence. Very well done.

The rest of the cast was solid. Neeson probably had the least showiest role, but he still did a good job as Hannibal. Cooper was very good and Jackson actually didn't turn out that badly. I was expecting him to be weak, but he surprised me. I'm also a big fan of Patrick Wilson and I thought he did well.

It's too bad it didn't open higher, but I am hoping, like the rest of you who enjoyed it, that it does have some legs. Box Office Mojo lists the production budget at $110 million, which is lower than I would have guessed. So maybe with some decent word of mouth, it'll be able to reach at least that total. The one concern is it did drop 3.6% on Saturday.

Hopefully the video sales will be high enough to convince Fox to do a sequel. I'd love to see these guys back again. I may actually forgive Carnahan for "Smokin' Aces".

Spoiler:
Reginald Barclay was the first credited name on the movie/show (The Greater Escape) they were playing when they broke out Murdock.

The A-Team is terribly, terribly similar to The Losers, with the docks climax, the plot concerning CIA money, and Patrick Wilson playing exactly the same role as Jason Patric, exactly the same way. The plot is the weakest point, twisty beyond the point of interest. However, anytime the cast cracks a joke or does something funny, it's gold - especially Copley.

I agree to most of what you said. I nodded off a couple times to both films. The acting was overall pretty good, especially Copley. I didn't even mind Wilson or that other villain guy (the writer).

Quick cuts and shaky-cam, when is it ever going to end???

Caught a late showing tonight and absolutely loved it. Easily beats Iron Man 2 as the most fun i've had at a movie this year. I'm a bit too young to remember a lot of the show, but old enough to know the premise, the characters, and the van from the episodes I watched. I thought the characters were spot on and the best part of the movie working was their chemistry. I was worried about Rampage in his introduction, but once the air travel kicked in he was fantastic.

Absolutely loved the tank sequence and all the mayhem and dialog going on between BA and Murdock. Had a smile on my face the whole time. I hope that this does well enough for a sequel. I actually liked Smokin Aces quite a bit, so as far as i'm concerned Carnahan is doing pretty well.

All the hate going on in the box office thread just sounds even more ridiculous :p

I think all of the above WILL happen. I haven't met anyone yet who didn't love the movie and even my friends who don't see movies twice are ready to go again. It'll be a damn shame if audiences don't find this one.
