The 100 Most Disturbing Movies Of All Time
Not an actual list, basically shows you 100 movie posters over 5 pages.

All the usual suspects seem to be accounted for. Of the 100, I've seen 40.
How'd you score? Any others that they missed?
People call movies disturbing for different reasons. The subject matter can be unsettling, the imagery gruesome, or Kathy Bates’ breasts might be exposed. These movies have a way of sticking with a viewer and range from extreme torture porn, to well-made psychological drama. The list includes movies that are disturbing in many ways, and although fake Japanese snuff films take up a portion, we’ve mixed it up a bit; there’s also a movie about heroin-addicted Muppets. A lot of these films are foreign, many difficult to find, and most even harder to watch. Enjoy!
Warning: Some of the movies on this list reach degrees of violence and sodomy that are incredibly tough to sit through. Yeah, there’s quite a bit of nudity, but there’s also a lot of poop eating. If you’re the queasy type, do a little research before checking one out. Also, quite a few are foreign so if you don’t like subtitles stop being a wuss, and quit denying yourself quality cinema for the dumbest reason ever.

Shouldn't belong:
Killing Zoe
Zombie Holocaust
Trainspotting
Ebola Syndrome (Should be replaced with Untold Story)
Gummo is the only that I couldn't finish. Violence in movies doesn't bug me, but little inbreds rasslin' with each other apparently does.

Re: The 100 Most Disturbing Movies Of All Time
I've seen 52, but feel bad for the other 48, because many of them have been on my list for a long time ...
Of course the list could go on and on, but these are some great choices.
I bet Lick wins with 76, way to go!
Also, agree that Killing Zoe shouldn't be on there, unless they consider it disturbing for being a lame cash-in on Tarantino.

it's good to see some obscure (some unreleased) titles worthy of the list like Twentynine Palms, The Reflecting Skin (one of my all-time favorites) and Claire Denis' 'Trouble Every Day'... each left unimaginable effects on the way i look at disturbing cinema.
i've never seen A Zed and Two Noughts, but i really thought Peter Greenaway's 'The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover should've made the list. Another favorite, i found it to be downright twisted.
here's what i think is missing:
1900
The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover
The Baby From Macon
In A Glass Cage
The Day of the Locust
Tourist Trap
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Turkish Delight
Seven
Cruising
Bug
Blue Velvet
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me
Walkabout
Don't Look Now
Week End
Possession
On A Silver Globe

I've only seen one on that list.
Guess I don't watch "disturbing" movies...
p.s. I bought American History X on blu, just haven't gotten around to it, so I guess I'll be doubling up my disturbing movie watching soon.

Terrible list. First of all, it's not a list, it's a bunch of images you have to click through. Second of all, they don't give any reasons -- or any commentary on any of the movies at all (unless I'm missing something). Thirdly, Killing Zoe? Granted it's been YEARS since I saw that movie, but disturbing in any way? As I remember, it was a mediocre crime thriller.

41 for me.
I would add Seven, Olivier Olivier, Graveyard of Fireflies, and Born Into Brothels in there as well.

One of the most disturbing movies for me was Sophie's Choice, seriously, and I hate kids!
I have seen roughly half or more of the list, and yeah some are in the "oh my" category but didn't make me think "this is quite disturbing".
